I wouldn't want to be a head coach. Not sure how they make these recruiting decisions. Would landing NWG scare off a 2016 PG like Bracey? They'd only overlap for 1 maybe 2 years, but with Tre already on board that would use up most of the PG minutes for a 2016 PG's freshman and possibly sophomore year if NWG were to play 2 years after transferring. If we can get NWG we get him. Don't let a kid like Bracey get in the way of adding a high-impact player like that.

Nigel will almost certainly make his decision well before Bracey. If Nigel coming scares off Bracey, or anyone else? Well, c'est la vie. We need top flight guards, even if for only one year. GU must establish a pattern of bringing in top level guards and getting a few to the League. We have had our share of good guards over the years, Wallace, Sapp, Wright, Freeman, Clark, Starks, DSR. All were quality college guards and a few were on the cusp of the next level. DSR was first team BE as was Freeman, and I think Clark and Starks were too.
But the last AA guard at GU - 1st, 2nd or 3rd team - was Iverson back in 1996 (First team, of course, and #1 pick in the draft). OK, we should always hope for kids like Iverson, Ewing, Sleepy, ZO... etc, but we can't expect to get them. We have done pretty well putting Frontcourt players in the league of late, though none from the backcourt. Frontcourt - Jeff, Roy, Greg, DaJuan, Hollis, Henry, Otto
All goes to say, try like heck to get Nigel. Stay after Bracey and all the other kids we are on too. If Nigel commits to GU - still a long shot in my view - halleluja! If we don't pursue him all out, there is no guarantee any of those other kids will come anyway. If Nigel DOES come, and plays as well as we expect, it will help bring in more kids of his caliber down the road.

Really wish he would've been open to signing before September. Sounds like Pitino is looming and he's poised to have a big AAU summer.

Is this Pitino's revenge for our recruiting his transfers? Actually, this is a good thing talent-wise as it indicates that Bracey may be better than his ratings suggest.

My thoughts exactly. The Hoyas and Cardinals are recruiting this guy, but he is not a top 150 player? Sounds like a huge disconnect to me.

Yes - I'd just rather everyone figure out he was under-rated after he signed an LOI to be a Hoya!

Do the recruiting sites rank based on NBA potential? If so, then that could be the source of the disconnect as certain players could project to have a significant impact at the collegiate level but not at the NBA. A short point guard would seem to fit that bill.

@dmvelitescout Daquan Bracey (2016 Team Choo) understands how to use angles, change of speed, and body contact to gain the upper hand on a defender.

1) Wish it was September already so he would commit. 2) Wish he would play for a more competitive AAU team in the mean time.

Team Choo is legit. They focus a ton on skill development, they'll get him ready.
