PW seemed to play a lot more minutes tonight than he has had so far.....of course, this was the 1st game that really mattered.
Man, Paul has the perfect game to bust 2-3 zones. It is so nice not to have to count on 3 point shooting to destroy them. He was simply awesome in that role tonight.
He was also money on his 3 late in the game. It was a heck of a time to land his first 3 of the year.
This kids will be a phenomenal Hoya.

As pointed out on the broadcast, he also brought it up court under pressure on the final play and hit DSR for the winning assist.

And he never panicked. I thought he was going to force the issue, but he remained cool....that was just as big a play as his three-pointer

He has incredible handles for a 6-9 man. Some of the best I've seen. I noticed that on his mix tape this summer.

I can't say he is yet as good defensively as a similar sized swing guy....Greg Whittington. But he looks far more skilled offensively, after just a few games in his career.

He was on the floor almost the entire game. Led us in mins with 35, along with LJP.

There were a number of communication mistakes on defense and turnovers, and the Freshman definitely had their share. But My God, they are not athletically overmatched at all, and they are absolutely fearless out there. Watching Peak and White have that much poise and confidence in their first big game was stunning. I could get used to watching that.

They both played on the same high school team during their junior year at Whitney Young in Chicago so that probably helps a little bit in being more comfortable out there so soon.

This is my guy!… Smooth, poised, but BOX SOMEBODY OUT PAUL!!
You’re not out jumping anybody, put a body on somebody…
All in all it’s looking like it’s going to be hard to keep Paul on the Bench, great game by him and a huuuge 3..

Paul White has a great "old man game" quality about him. There was a thread earlier about a "glue guy". He looks like someone who could be a very talented "glue guy".

I remember watching Whitney Young HS last year. He was on the same team with the national #1 recruit Okafor. However, Paul White looked better than Okafor, at least for that game. I agree that he is going to be special.

Paul has a lot of Otto in him. He was also excellent on closeouts/help in the zone defense. He also has very long arms and good court sense. He does need to box out better but this is his first game against a top-level athletic team and I am sure that he will realize the need to box out and not rely on his own athleticism. He was definitely the glue guy last night.

I'm sure you also noticed he didn't box out in high school either and it was the one - and only thing - that irked me about his game.

Yeah man for a kid so fundamentally sound it’s a head scratcher, and an easy fix. Hope somebody got in his ear about that after the game. Him and Hop at the 4 and 5 probably our best defensive lineup but in order for it to work both have to get on the Boards… Guards 2

White has actually been the player getting the most minutes at PF so far this year @44%. Ike and Hopkins round out most of the rest of the minutes. I would not have guessed that.

It's almost like you have Whitt and Porter rolled up into one player! Fluid like Whitt, a master of consistency and reliability like Otto.

And playing with a more aggressive Jeff G. when Copeland comes around. And if we can get a little Hollis in Reggie, then we're golden.
