I just watched a YouTube video of President Obama mocking Mitt Romney during the debates for calling Russia a "geopolitical foe". The super genius took the time to snarkily remark "the 80s called and they want their foreign policy back". Oh that President, so glib, so clever, so very condescending, and as usual so very, very wrong.
Could not hear the very end because of the news break about Russia invading Ukraine.

What would President Romney have done differently?

Perhaps recognize that Putin was a real live problem and not cracked wise about the 80s for a start.

Okay, so this isn't a substantive complaint whatsoever.

Only in so much as it betrays the basic empty suit nature of this President who always has time for the glib wisecrack, witty platitude or round of golf, but little time for the hard work and critical thinking his job requires.

I am with you, Elvado.
Also saw an old video of him calling ISIS the 'JV team' this morning. Meanwhile, they're beheading Americans while he's out playing golf. Unbelievable.

TC:
If you believe his performance as President is acceptable, good for you. I don't but will not try to convince you otherwise.
It would be nice to have a responsible grown up in the White House. Right now we have a churlish golfer.

[President Obama mocking Mitt Romney during the debates for calling Russia a "geopolitical foe".]
He didn't dispute that Russia may be a geopolitical foe; Romney called them our top geopolitical foe.
But it's easier to make snarky comments when you lie...

What would President Romney have done differently? Send Secretary of State Sarah Palin.

Keep defending the indefensible boys. Loyalty is a virtue right up until it runs into stupidity. You passed that about three exits ago.
Snarky like "the 80s called and they want their foreign policy back"? Is that the kind of snark you mean?
Barry missed the boat completely on Russia as a threat. It is not his worst miscalculation. He's had much worse.

So we've moved past the original lie and onto strawmen and talking points?

At least this president has the intelligence to come up with the wisecracks and wit that suggests he could undertake the hard work and critical thinking that the job requires. The last guy couldn't even muster that (but spent plenty of time playing golf and clearing brush). No, I don't think the above comment is fair to President Bush, but I don't think your "glib wisecracks" are any less broad or fair. There are any number of reasons why President Obama may or may not be mishandling foreign policy, but his speaking style and hobbies are not among them.

He clearly mocked Romney's description of Russia as a threat. Then smirked while Romney expanded on the point. He then trotted out his oh so cool 80s comment before again smiling in self- satisfaction.
Flash forward less than 2 years and Russia is invading Ukraine.
What did I miss?
Other than the Barry rally you all just left.

So Obama mocks Romney's hyperbole about the danger Russia presents to the US, and now that Russia has invaded Ukraine...I should be scared?
Also for the record, not sharing your anti-Obama fetish is not the same thing as supporting him...
What should we have done different with this situation?
Outside of Obama's personal projection of weakness...

Seriously. It was lame when Dems attacked Dubya for clearing brush or whatever the hell he did at his ranch for months on end. And it's lame now when the GOP is obsessed with how often Obama golfs. It's really the lowest form of partisan BS.

Couldn't possibly agree more nychoya3. It really is the single lowest form of "political debate" when people get angry when the Other Team's president if they have the nerve to ever relax or travel as if he were an important man. When my guy is in Office the President is the MOst Powerful Man in the World and demanding of the utmost Respect for his Office.
When the other guy gets a turn? All of the sudden we expect him to act like the head of a condo association and live like a common idiot. So pathetic.
Wait...there might be one level more childish....Using insincere or made-up names whether "Barry" or "BuEditedler."

You really do not wish to debate the manner I which the Obamas have been grabbing with both hands every perk and expensive junket they can get their hands on do you? Say what you will about Republican Presidents, none of them ever freeloaded at taxpayer expense like this crowd.
