Ron over on Hoya Report posted that our good friend IDHoya, or broeye to some, has passed away from cancer. Real sad news.
He was always a solid poster and offered great insight. He will be missed.

My condolence to his family! I had a couple times to sit with IDHoya at out of town (Louisville & Nashville) Hoyas games. Enjoyed his passion for Georgetown basketball. We shared lots of recruiting info.

Very sad indeed. One of the best, the very best posters on Hoya Talk. So sorry man. RIP.

Was fortunate to have had several PM conversations with ID over the years. I am tremendously saddened. Great poster, great fan.

Terribly sad news. To echo some of the previous sentiments, ID was a great contributor. I really respected him and his opinions. Did not know his personally but I could tell just from the interactions on this board that he was a really decent guy. He will be sorely missed.

I'm so sad to hear that. He always put great posts too and his passion for hoyas was evident. Hope he rests in peace and enjoys following Hoyas in heaven

Very sad news and a big loss to this board. Over 6000 posts on this board with his last being on March 22nd: "If we have 5 schollies for '15 then we need Mann, Reeves, Dickerson, a top notch big (Commanche, etc.)and a whoever else." I too was fortunate enough to PM with him and will miss the passion he brought to HT.
Condolences to his family.

Surreal. Sometimes we take for granted that our fellow posters live in the real world and therefore are vulnerable to real world issues. I can recall maybe one other mentioned death of a HT member and part of me thinks I'm imagining that. Before this announcement surely someone or some people who posted on HT must have passed away, possibly without anyone noticing. That's a depressing thought but it also should serve as a reminder that when we have disagreements on Hoya Talk it is not all that serious in comparison to the more genuine problems we face away from our keyboards.
Seems like I've been sharing space with IDHoya on both this site and Hoya Report forever. Both places will feel a little vacant without him. Godspeed, ID. My prayers go out to your family.

Rest in Peace, ID. One of my favorite posters on the board, not just because of his info, but because he was always level-headed, never got into the petty spats that we all seem to do. He loved Georgetown basketball, obviously, but he never seemed to let it get under his skin. My prayers go out to his family, if they are reading.
