Rumor on CasualHoya about a UConn Home and home series being discussed.. Fwiw Sounds good - especially if Ollie sticks around for awhile and UConn remains a national contender.

Fwiw This would be a good one....better if they give up on football finally though I like this game a lot, even better than a Syracuse game at this point in time. 2 stipulations that I'd try to include as part of the contract: 1) Deal is off if UCONN joins ACC; and 2) Hoyas get first game of the home-and-homes to protect against 1.

Why do we care if they join the ACC? If the big east isn't strong enough to survive without Uconn, I really doubt that they want to join a conference that needed them to prop it up. They are already in that situation.

I agree. The purpose of a home-and-home against Connecticut is to get a high quality opponent who will give us a challenge and put fans in the seats. That's true regardless of whether Connecticut is in the AAC or ACC. I really think refusing to play ACC teams is taking it too far.
We are going to have a very talented team for the next few years. I want to play major opponents and beat them, regardless of conference affiliation.

Seriously. Are ESPN writers not allowed to so much as Google "N"BE teams? I mean, "Bradley Center" is listed in ESPN's online boxscores for MU home games. espn.go.com/ncb/recap?gameId=400504578I guess they had to focus research resources on vomiting out another fluff piece on "How hard it's going to be to replace Coach K"

It was supposed to be UMD.. Don’t know what happened though... Maybe UMD had to forfeit the game due to a lack of players

www.cbssports.com/collegebasketball/eye-on-college-basketball/24580284/conference-catchup-who-will-join-villanova-in-the-big-east-title-huntNot much there - basic conference preview outline. His early top 5 is: Villanova Xavier Georgetown Providence Seton Hall "We just had so much adversity last year," Thompson told CBS Sports' Jon Rothstein in late April. "If you look at us last year at this time, you would think that both Greg Whittington and Josh Smith would be a big part of what we were going to be. Then in the Big East, neither of those guys played." "Then Jabril Trawick broke his jaw. It was one thing after the other. Next year we'll have Jabril back with D'Vauntes [Smith-Rivera] along with Aaron Bowen, Josh [Smith], and also Mikael Hopkins. We've also got several freshman that are going to play right away. Those four first-year guys --- Isaac Copeland, Paul White, L.J. Peak, and Tre Campbell --- are going to be thrown into the fire quickly."

Xavier 5th year transfer Justin Martin ended up at SMU...adding him and Mudlay to a strong returning core, SMU has the makings of a top 10-15 team next year.

From the Tribune: "Madison Square Garden has a long-term deal to host the Big East tournament, so one of the conferences — likely the Big Ten — would have to be flexible in its dates." If the B10 wants to host their game a week earlier, it's their call, but realistically the Dolans aren't interested in the Knicks and the Rangers going on a two week road trip. There's always Prudential Center for a tournament site, which would make the second week of March, 2018 an absolute whirlwind for college basketball in NYC.
