Interested to see where the coaching search ends as this is not a good time of year to have uncertainty.
I would think they would have to give Sgarlata serious consideration for that spot though as things get delayed I wonder?

I'm begging anyone that will listen to give Eli Drinwkitz a call.

I'm begging anyone that will listen to give Eli Drinwkitz a call. Bailing on your new job after less than 2 months is not looked upon favorably and is the sort of bridge-burning that no up-and-coming young coach is going to do. Not for Georgetown.

Well, the guy had no choice. He didn't just get hired at Boise State by being picked off the Arkansas State staff, he moved with the whole staff when Harsin took the job. He didn't have the option to stay at Arky State. So I'm sure Harsin would be more than happy to see him talking to Georgetown and I don't think anyone in the coaching community would consider it bridge-burning.

In a usual search for a position like this (and realistically, Georgetown will never release the names), a program at this level would likely get apps from a couple of Ivy coaches, a couple of Patriot position coaches below the coordinator level, a couple of D-III assistants, a couple of local DC high school coaches and maybe a retired head coach or two.
A mid-February search is so late in the process, however, that a lot of coaches have already re-upped with their schools for 2014-15 so what would be left would not be active candidates anywhere else. I understand why Georgetown is claiming the "national search", but the next Joe Moglia isn't walking through that door three weeks before spring practice starts. Sgarlata has earned a seat at the table, and should be given a chance to see what he can do.

If anything, he was a Kelly flunky who either had no input (not a leader) or was a sycophant who supported Kelly's inept leadership. Heck, Craig Esherick had a better resume than Sgarlata. Much better, actually.
