hard to think this team will finish in the bottom half of a league without su(ck), pitt, louisville or nd.

Moses has 4 fouls. Give Hayes some minutes. There is literally no reason not to. What is being accomplished by gluing our prospects to the bench in a lost game on the road? It does not matter if he's not ready. I don't disagree in principle. But it is only a 13 point game. Do I think we will win? Of course not. But I can see waiting until it is a bit more out of hand.

When the "bigs" of Creighton float out on the perimeter its guards drive a straight line to the hole it seems. Perhaps that's the intent. Meanwhile when the Gtown bigs are on the perimeter the Hoya guards seem more interested in taking jumpshots. Maybe that is because a line to the basket doesn't quite open up for the Hoyas. Perhaps that is because the defenses are playing "soft" on the Hoya bigs by not drifting all the way out to check them. I think that how the offense is designed, The guards have settled for jump shots thru various years

Nate's out there playing volleyball on the boards right now. Rebounded well in the first half, but it's gone south fast. Somebody tell me what the benefit of having him on the floor right now is. Yea looked like we could have had the ball, he knocked it away from Bowen Saw that too. Like everyone else on the Hoyas he is a little slow to the ball tonight and trying to compensate with hustle. But he is a little out of control.

Maybe the coach is not willing to concece the game yet. he is not the quitter many on this board are. It's not conceding if you're quitting on an ineffective gameplan and ineffective lineups.

It does not matter if he's not ready. They clearly aren't good players if JT had no use for them. Pay no attention to the fact either Vee or JB would have the third highest offensive rating on this team.

hard to think this team will finish in the bottom half of a league without su(ck), pitt, louisville or nd. It is not hard to think at all. The team is without Whittington and Josh Smith and Jabril Trawick. There isn't enough depth, at least not quality depth, to compensate for that; I don't care what league you're in.

I don't think there is any "game plan" that would have guided us to victory in this game. We just don't have the offensive horses. We bust our backsides defensively enough to hang in there but we only have 2 1/2 who consistently score and 5 guys who literally are afraid to shoot. How can you game plan with this team? There is no answer that gets us a win in this game.

To be fair (and I'm still a big Vee fan) neither Vee nor JB would have any eligibility left and JB plays a much easier schedule (Vee, too, to a lesser extent). But yeah, we're not good at offense.

Honestly, I don't think Creighton got better shots than us today.
They are just much better at shooting.

With all the players we have that just pass up shots... They have to be doing the same thing in practice...
They are just passing up shots like it is 2nd nature.

Totally fair point. At the same time, I'd just as soon call for Hayes in the first half. If the frontcourt (sans Hopkins) is largely a non-factor, I don't see much harm in giving a prospect some run at any point in the game. Surely Bradley is capable of setting a screen and passing on the perimeter. Doesn't seem to be a lot of downside. This doesn't necessarily have to be a discussion about only Hayes either. I'm just a proponent of shaking things up more. Everything just seems so stagnant out there. Trotting out the same lineups with the same strategy every game isn't going to magically result in a turnaround. It just isn't.

What surprises me is how much better Creighton is at finishing around the rim when its players get there/get the ball in close.

Good pressure defense to get the ball back.
