"Maryland has finally offered 2015 Montrose Christian point guard Allonzo Trier, considered the top player in the class. He's thought of as a Georgetown lean, and recently received an offer from Indiana." Where is this quote from? Btw, staff is extremely high on this kid. The three guys we are going after hardest....Mann, Trier and Dickerson. Btw....accidentally excluded Rabb from the list...he and Bacon are both high priorities (along with the three above) for 2015.

These are very good priorities Yes, I agree. But while I'm not sure it's possible, I'd like to see us going hard after every top big in the class, so that would also include Comanche, Skal, and a few others. Really, really need a top big from the class of '15.

1. Rabb 2. Dickerson (staff believes he can play the 5) 3. Comanche
Staff would happily sign any 2 of the 3.

Have we given up on Hayes? Just asking. Where was Roy at the same point in his development with us?

Just watched a game with him in it versus Kobe Eubanks team. Super impressed with his strength and open court ability. He has a deadly jumper needs to quicken up the release though. He also is a very good FT shooter.

Roy played as a frosh and a soph. Hayes hasn't.
All you need to know about their development.

Have we given up on Hayes? Just asking. Where was Roy at the same point in his development with us? On February 16 of his sophomore year, Roy Hibbert went for 17 points, 8 rebounds on 8/10 shooting. Pretty safe to say Hayes won't be doing that this Sunday, as he has 7 points, 10 rebounds on 1/5 shooting for his career. So uhh... Behind Roy. The best argument for keeping Hayes on board is a kid like Zoubek who was awful for like 90 percent of his college career and the light went on for like a month and a half at the exact right time. But even an oaf like Zoubek was getting 10 mpg his sophomore year on a Duke team that is much better than this one, so Hayes is way behind that. If he's getting this little time as a sophomore, probably time to part ways.

I truly don't understand how we haven't signed an elite big man since Monroe given our history and the success of our bigs in the L. It really doesn't make any damn sense to me. Ochefu would have been a terrific fit for this team.

Is Trier making a transition to the 5? If not, maybe we take the big man talk somewhere else.

As far as the Zoubek comp (or lack thereof), yep Zoubek was a highly-touted recruit who underperformed but played even in his first two years.

He will have to make the transition to the 1 cause he likes to shoot. He has a good enough point guard handle though. The other thing in that game I saw is that he is a 1 man fast break. He finishes alot 1 on 2, 1 on 3. It was impressive. Also Eubanks is a decent shooter in that same game but I'm not sold on 2014 signing for him.

Have we given up on Hayes? Just asking. Where was Roy at the same point in his development with us? Hayes would be a senior in 2015, and the only center on the roster.

Seriously, enough of the big man talk. There are any number of other threads where that belongs. I come here looking for a Trier update and, inexplicably, I get discussion about Brian Editeding Zoubek.
