We have shown that we are not a 2nd half team this year. Maybe we will change this around this game. Anything goes at this point.
EDIT: I guess not.

It's time to end the Kelly era. The only success we had can be credited to a coach who is no longer around, and was basically placed in Kelly's lap because his old program folded. Then, one atrocious OC hire later, look where we are again.

Once again, the credit does not go to the coach, who did not stick around, for the success of the 2011 team. It goes to the 13 seniors who stayed with the program and gave the team the on and off field leadership necessary to be successful. Regardless who is coaching, you need strong player leadership to be a success.

Okay. Fine. Give credit to the 2011 seniors. The issue is still Kelly. End of story.

The only thing that can salvage Georgetown football is Georgetown University. Obviously, there is minimal investment and no vision for how we are going to create a program worthy of the University. Remaining in the Patriot League and recruiting and playing against teams investing in scholarships is going to have the expected results.
It is time for some leadership of Georgetown football and that starts well above Coach Kelly.

Well said.
The direction of a team falls with the coach, but the direction of a program requires buy-in at many levels, and those levels have been otherwise occupied with a myriad of activities from the IAC to housing to the McCourt gift. With Homecoming arriving, this is probably a good time to discuss this in more depth.
Foootball isn't the only team at Georgetown with this issue, either.
FWIW, Princeton had a 22-3 lead on Lehigh and lost it in the 4th quarter. The Tigers look a lot more like Brown than Davidson.

But what's easier to fix in the short term? Getting the school to make a serious commitment to football or getting a competent coach? It's the same issue that baseball has at Georgetown. No one cares enough to mess with the status quo.

Let's not let our leadership escape with the easy action of replacing Coach Kelly. Who would want to replace him to face a significant disadvantage before they lead the first practice? If they did happen to be successful, why would they stay? To be underpaid and under resourced?
I am not blindly advocating that GU offer scholarships. I am advocating that leadership step up and align the level of investment with the level of competition. If we want to have an FCS team, let's make the investment necessary to have one worthy of the University. If we decide that we are unwilling to make that investment, then let's go D II, play quality football and provide a great experience for the Georgetown students who also choose to be athletes.
What we shouldn't do is remain "stuck in the middle" , lacking the guts to define a direction and causing frustration for coaches, alumni, fans and, especially, the kids who bust their asses to compete as students and players.
