Two of our nation's most famous daily newspapers have been sold in the last two days: Boston Globe (at bargain price of $70M) to the Red Sox (and others) and Washington Post to Amazon. Any thoughts on their future?

Actually, I think John Henry is buying as an individual, not the Red Sox and same with the WaPo. Good, hopefully that improves the chances that he fires Shaughnessy Day 1.

If only he wouldn't be immediately picked up by the Herald or (more likely) ESPN Boston or one of the radio stations, only to spew more negativity and bile back at him. Probably just better to keep him under contract, then keep all of his crap behind a paywall and buried in the print edition.
