Long time hoya here from S.C. I'm so glad my boys are coming to town i don't know what to do. the last time i saw us was when sweetney was here and we played the gamecocks in the then brand new colonial center ( great place for a game by the way) and that game was a great one. big tony kitchens played the best game i ever saw him play, but sweetney came to ball as well and we snuck out of there with a win. i'll be there on thursday too and i'll update you guys. glad to be here.

i know if we payed hibbert like we should have and had his confidence up, this game would be easy. i have seen him be really impressive in some games this year and then some games get like 10 mins. that's just not fair to the kid and his developement. usc has no height and he could kill them on the inside if they would only play him. i still can't stand the offense we run. it's just not go with the talent we have, which is on the inside. all that ouside shooting is just like a football team that passes all the time. sooner or later it will catch up with you. the inside game is like the running game, you have to have it.

^ disagree, if you are going to use a system down the road, you use it now. No these kids werent recruited for it, but III should not switch his strategy. Its better than what Esh was doin right?

I'll be at the game, as well. Any other Hoya Fans going to be there?
I was at the game in 2001 when Braswell hit that shot... that was in the old Carolina Coliseum, I believe, not the new Colonial Center. We beat the Cocks in Columbia in 2001, and then again at MCI in 2002.
This year we can sweep the Palmetto State's major conference teams. We already beat Clemson in Hawaii.

I was at the 2001 game in Columbia - it was at the old Carolina Coliseum and not their current arena. If it was next week I'd be there, but I'm in Baltimore this week. There were a few people outside in GU attire at the last game in Columbia but I didn't see many sitting in the lower bowl during the game but I was sitting in some seats in the middle of their season ticket holders. If anybody's going, the closest hotels are the Holiday Inn on Assembly, the Hampton Inn on Gervais and the Comfort Suites on Huger. There's also a former Adams Mark that's soon to be a Marriott on Main St. at the corner of Hampton (I think the name is Hotel Columbia now.)

I'm actually going to USC this fall. I've seen 2 games at the Colonial Center, one this year and one last year. It is a real nice arena, and should be a great atmosphere.

If we had played Hibbert more in the games that he didn't play much in, there are a number of games we would not have won, which we did. If you look at the stats, Roy has played much better (and hence, longer) against teams with big, traditional frontcourt players, and much worse (and therefore, less) against those who have smaller, quicker lineups. While he is a deterrent in the lane, he is far more prone to foul trouble against small quick lineups, and is vulnerable to getting stripped on offense. There are a lot of things that Roy can improve about his game, and hopefully, many of those will be addressed this summer, but he is still young, raw, and not that smooth. A lot of his offensive game will come in time, and I don't think rushing his development would be good for either him or the team.
