* The game atmosphere for this game was spectacular. I realize it will be impossible to have a similar atmosphere again, but if there was a way to really get enthusiasm up for 1 or 2 games a year, like this, it would be huge. Candidly, even as a huge Hoya fan, the atmosphere came off pretty flat on TV. Perhaps it was the NBA area effect. I don't know, it just seemed pretty sterile and lackluster from an energy perspective. Not true. It looked fine on TV. Alot of energy. And TV hardly ever panned over to the 400 section so all the viewer saw was a ocean of gray with a couple orange splotches behind the syracuse bench.

I was impressed by the number of ex-players that came back (on tv of course). Even the cats that weren't superstars were there. Hoya love! Was wondering if anyone had a complete list - post game press conference mentioned, among others, Ewing, Graham, Wingate, Mourning, Tillman, Duren and Sapp. I saw Jeff Green's Mom before the game.

It works but is out of place. Points awarded for funny signs. Points deducted for wearing an O's cap with an orange brim to the game.

Random thought of the day now that the big SU/Gtown games are over, unless we meet again somehow in the NCAA tourney.
Since my love for the Hoyas starting in the mid 80's I've enjoyed an SU loss as much as a Hoya win, no matter who they are playing, especially living in SU country. Now that Gtown and SU will be in different conferences, I'm starting to wonder will I really care as much. Initially, I'd say sure but few years down the road, will I really care if they go 0-12 or 12-0 in the ACC, I doubt it. Now starting to sink in that this rivalry is really going away unless we figure out a way to keep them on the schedule. I'll be left with just hating the Red Sox. It's going to take some years before we develop anything near the hate for a team in Big East 2.0

BTW: Syracuse's Michael Carter Williams earned a share of the Big East's Most Improved Player Award on Monday. Carter-Williams tied for the honors with Providence's Kadeem Batts.
MCW, well, he does lead Syracuse in steals . . .

How many times has a team player another four times in a season? Including the two reg. season games, a conference tourney, and a NCAA/NIT tourney.
While the chances are slim to none, has it been done before?

Georgetown and St. John's played four times in 1985.
As well as Georgetown and Providence in 1987. --Admin

Are you kidding? Villanova will easily fit the bill.
BTW, having been a Hoya min-plan Section 400 holder for the last 5 years I can attest to the fact that the 400 section is where the low income, last minute visiting fans always get their tickets. Fact of life for us Section 400 Hoya fans is dealing with these folks. Cuse fans always the worst but UCONN fans were running a close second. I was very impressed this year with Louisville fans. They lost a close game but didn't act nuts. Very matter of fact over the loss and more concerned with their teams performance than outcome of the game. If Hoyas don't go all the way you gotta get behind Louisville.

I have found the Louisville fans to be a great addition to the conference and am quite sorry that they will not remain in the Big East.

If Hoyas don't go all the way you gotta get behind Louisville. I mean, I hate Nova, but that hatred exists almost entirely because of 1985, a game that occurred when I was only 1 year old. Nova needs to get a lot better for me to hate them as much as I hate Cuse. I think this guy has it right--Cuse-Georgetown was built, in large part, on the fact that we both beat each other in games that really, really mattered and that really, really, really hurt to lose. Nova has beaten us in 1985, and, well, aside from that one game, well, they haven't really been able to do anything against us that left a mark. That's a big mark, obviously, but not like what Cuse & Gtown have done to each other. www.esquire.com/blogs/culture/syracuse-georgetown-rivalry-ends

yeah, I guess you had to be a 38 year old alum in 1985 to have and nurse the Villanova hate.
