I was in the 400s. The Syracuse fans around me were generally well-behaved. As others have said, it's hard to get obnoxious when your team is getted killed. Late in the game, one of them shouted "Pitbull and Syracuse, together again!" I guess that's one way to express your frustration.
My friend's brother-in-law (current student) said his "MCW Stole My Other Sign" sign drew chuckles from Bilas et al., but was confiscated by the production crew so it wouldn't end up on TV.
I thought the students and Stonewalls did a great job. I was particularly fond of the "Porter for Pope" sign.

Jim Boeheim has under achieved with the talent that rolled thru Syracuse...Sherman Douglas, Ron Seikaly, Derrick Coleman he should have at least 1 more National title...with that said, the man truly loved the Big East and was really upset when the Big East turned down the ESPN contract in 2011 which lead to the mass exodus John Thompson Jr only won 1 title with Ewing. Zero with Mourning and Mutombo. Glass house my friend.

It certainly helps put you in the deal stream, but you need some luck, among other things, too. By any measure, Ewing and company alone could easily have won three, but it didn't happen. Much as I dislike Syracuse and Boeheim, I would never say they underachieved in winning just one title. In fact, after thinking about it, those chumps were lucky to get ONE!

Sat in the 400s as well. Tons of Cuse fans in my section, who were mostly well behaved or shell shocked, hard to tell the difference.
Brought my son to his first Georgetown game and celebrated his first birthday. He even got complimented by his cuteness but some Cuse fans.
After the court rush, 2 drunk Cuse fans screamed at our group that rushing was embarrassing. I said personally I thought 39 points was more embarrassing. This set him off and he threatened to beat me up for like 45 seconds while I was laughing at him before his buddies pulled him away.
Amazing weekend!

Look at the minute distribution from this game
Starks - 40 Porter - 39 Trawick - 33 DSR - 33 Lubick - 20 Hopkins 20 Ayegba -11
That line-up is so different that what we used for most of the beginning of the year when Lubick, Hop, and Whit would have more minutes.
DSR and Trawick have stepped up hugely in addition to Porter blossoming.

Rewatched on ESPN3 last night and noticed a few things that were not as apparent in person:
-- Porter was our MVP again. He kept the 'cuse D focused on him, made the passes to the open guys and played unbelieveabke defense on CJ Fair. Trawick also had a strong game.
-- The ESPN crew pretty much gave up calling the game midway through the second half and spent most of the time talking about the history of the Big East.
-- DSR scored what turned out to be the winning basket (giving us 40 pts) with about 13 minutes and change to go.
-- When I paused the crowd shot at the 12 minute TO, my bald spot was clearly visible. Sigh.

Look at the minute distribution from this game Starks - 40 Porter - 39 Trawick - 33 DSR - 33 Lubick - 20 Hopkins 20 Ayegba - 11 Moses was in foul trouble early. If not, he could have been closer to 20 like in the first Syr game.

On a day filled with many wonderful moments, perhaps the funniest came after the game when my two friends and I, all wearing our Real Criminals Wear Orange t-shirts, were approached by three Syracuse fans in their 50s. One of them wanted to know where we'd gotten our shirts and was acting like he wanted one.
Then he said (and I promise I am not making this up), "One of my best friends is a huge Syracuse fan and since he just got out of prison, I'd love to get him one of those shirts."

Listening to Tony Kornheiser...I think that Syracuse reminds of the 2009 Hoyas team with the exception that Cuse is going to the NCAA, the 2009 Hoyas went to the NIT

Is there any way you can copy the ESPN3 replay onto the hard drive? Try CamStudio or BB FlashBack Express free edition. Both are screen capture software. Never used either, but I've been told they work.

My seats are in 101C behind our bench. Recruits and their friends / families filled the rows directly behind the bench. I have never seen so many at a game! The parents were very interested in Patrick and Alonzo. One mom caught a tee shirt. However, the recruits generally seemed bored.
Coach Thompson the elder was very engaged in the game. At one point he came over, spoke with Josh Smith who relayed a message to Hopkins who then seemed to pick up his play.
I loved the huge banner held up by the young alums.

This was a great game, a great weekend, and I am glad that I was able to be a part of it. A few observations:
* I was sitting in 418, and there were a lot of Syracuse fans. They were generally well behaved, and not terribly obnoxious, and the game really took the wind out of their sails. One of the guys behind me didn't know what a "Hoya" was. While I doubt many casual fans do, it probably means this guy wasn't much of a hardcore fan anyway (then again, it could just be a Syracuse fan being a Syracuse fan...).
* The 400s had a lot of Syracuse fans, but the rest of the place was largely gray. The only non-full section seemed to be the student overflow area, but you cannot complain, because the two student sections on the main floor were packed.
* The player introductions, with the Stonewalls' "Hatred Is Eternal" banner were great. They did a great job, and it's great to see an excited alumni group.
* Georgetown stomping on Syracuse really deflated the Syracuse fans. While they were into the game in the first half, they had almost nothing to say in the second half.
* It was great to watch the presentation of the Big East trophy and the team cutting down the nets. Everybody on the team cut the nets, including the team managers. I'm not sure the assistant coaches cut from the net, but all the players did, including Tyler Adams, Josh Smith, and Greg Whittington. Naturally, Porter and John Thompson III got the biggest crowd reactions, followed by DSR (who, to be fair, played to the crowd).
* I haven't watched this on TV yet, but Porter was conducting an interview with a journalist for a long time with his arm around Greg Whittington. I thought that was a really nice move by Porter, to include his teammate, who surely wanted more than anything to have played in that game.
* There was a small fight between a Georgetown fan and Syracuse fan near Clydes after the game. I think the Syracuse fan started shouting something, a Georgetown guy engaged, they started arguing about who made a higher salary, and then it ended up in a few blows. Despite security being all over the place, inside, not one person came by. It was minor and blew over, but I think it was mostly the result of a drunk depressed Syracuse fan.
* Ironically, for much of the game, I couldn't get any signal on my Verizon Wireless phone inside the building.
* The game atmosphere for this game was spectacular. I realize it will be impossible to have a similar atmosphere again, but if there was a way to really get enthusiasm up for 1 or 2 games a year, like this, it would be huge. I think it also underscores why we should continue to play Syracuse, if a home-and-home is feasible. The meaning wouldn't be the same, but it would still be a great game.
* I loved the big-head cutout of Jack (the bulldog). I thought that was great.

Candidly, even as a huge Hoya fan, the atmosphere came off pretty flat on TV. Perhaps it was the NBA area effect. I don't know, it just seemed pretty sterile and lackluster from an energy perspective.

After the first 10-15 minutes of game time, it was obvious that Georgetown was dominating, and I think that kept the energy levels down. In the last 5-10 minutes on the clock, we were basically running the clock down, which also took some of the energy off (but was the strategic and smart thing to do). Clearly, if the game had gone down to the wire, I think it would have come across a lot better on television, since the crowd would have been into the game, and it would have gotten really loud. That's okay, though - from a fan's perspective, I'll take a 22 point win any day.

I was impressed by the number of ex-players that came back (on tv of course). Even the cats that weren't superstars were there. Hoya love!

That was far and away the best in-arena atmosphere I've ever seen for a Hoya home game, and it actually matched the atmosphere at big BET games. If that didn't translate to television, there's no way the Verizon Center ever will, IMO.

Shook Jason Clark's hand along with Sapp's at halftime. Thanked Mrs. Clark for the gift of her son.
