It can be, especially when players are just learning. Although games with top teams and games with a lot of energy are worth it.

The quote from JT3 is correct. I don't want the college game to be the NBA game with lots of point the emphasis. I like seeing a game where defense is just as important as offense.

There have always been ugly college basketball games.
Anyone who actually watched games in the 70s, 80s, and 90s should know better than this. It was not one long highlight tape back then.

There have always been ugly college basketball games. Anyone who actually watched games in the 70s, 80s, and 90s should know better than this. It was not one long highlight tape back then. Exactly. The argument is rife with confirmation bias. Most of the tape that exists from that era is from teams that were good and good enough to warrant TV time (there arent any wichita st- indiana st game tapes from back then, its all going to be UCLA, Kentucky, etc). Is scoring down? Of course its is, there are statistics about it, you cant argue. But does that mean the game is worse? Only your only measure of how good a team is is how many points it scores. This sentence is just ridiculous: "And too many of the suits have decided that winning is all that matters, even if the style they're using is ruining the game." Uhhhhhhhhh, yeah of course. They get paid to win, not to make you happy. There have been a lot of low scoring games this season. There were also a lot last season and the season before that and the season 10 seasons ago. The difference is that this season (and for the past two seasons about) twitter makes it seem like every game is 8-6 at the end of the first half because its so much easier to share the games that are 8-6 at the half. Low scoring is not the reason that people arent going to CBB games. That has to do with three of the 6 major conferences being so top heavy that they resemble Mid Majors (im talking about the SEC, Big12, and Pac12). Many major teams are bad this year- UCLA, Kentucky, Texas, etc.- so even if they sell lots of tickets at home, because they are bad they dont sell tickets for road games (kentucky probably does, but no one is going to a Texas-Texas Tech game, please). Many of the suggestions that are offered are good and ones that I agree with. And they all deal with the Refs or rules changes. How you can offer those suggestions and then blame coaches for trying to coach to win games is incredible. (and the note about 3pt% being down is so funny because they just moved the line back specifically to achieve this!) If you dont like defense that is fine. Tonight is the NBA All Star game!! its a great game for you because all they do is score and there are no coaches and the refs call every little touch! I hear its great fun (not).

Agree with all three of the articles bulleted suggestions. Shot clock is unjustifiably long. If my high school can play with a 30 second shot clock then I'm reasonably sure that college players can manage. 24 is too short and works in the NBA because the guards are too good to be pressed.

I enjoy watching college basketball as much as, if not more so, than in previous years.
Sure, scoring seems to be down and there will be ugly games, but there have also been some fantastic ones. Butler over Indiana? Butler over Gonzaga? Notre Dame over Louisville in 5 OT's? All classics. Sure, #1 seems to keep losing and there don't seem to be any "great" teams, but the parity and unpredictability is what makes college basketball so much fun to me.
I watch college games basically on few factors: top matchups, familiarity with the schools, games that affect Georgetown, and honestly sometimes to watch the fans. I think fans are really what makes college basketball great, and that's it's biggest advantage over the NBA game. In general, NBA fans really don't get going until playoff time. That's what makes a lot of regular season NBA games boring.

I literally watch College Basketball 6-7 days a week (usually nothing on on a Friday night). I have not had a problem being entertained.

That last post may be the saddest thing I've ever read. Can someone please drop off a copy of Bonerjams 03 to HSB's condo?

It is very easy to watch Maryland lose to Boston College, two days after beating Duke.
