This group does not strike me as a team that will look past anyone. They have been focused for every game of this streak. I expect us to handle Depaul by double digits, then snowmobile into Suckacuse and punch the orangeboys in the mouth, steal their lunch money, and sled back out of town with the W. From your lips to the basketball gods'ears...

I think Ken Pomery has the right mantra, that in a clash of styles like this one we'll play the style we play with, and DePaul will play with the style they play with.
DePaul also seems to be playing a little bit slower lately. Their last three games have been 64, 72 (in OT), and 65 possessions, slower than the BE average pace of 71.7. One of the drivers of that seems to have been cutting down on the turnovers (they had a TO rate of 20+% four of the previous five games, but have been below it the past three). Turnovers seem to be big for them on both offense and defense (for us, it's rebounds on offense and rebounds and turnovers on defense).

I hope this is a stress free game so that players like Moses, Bowen, Domingo, and Hayes can get some PT. Bowen especially has shown he adds an intensity to the Hoya offensive rebounding. He may not get the rebound or tip in but he gets at least one hand on a lot of balls that eventually keeps the ball from a defender and into the hands of another Hoya. Does anyone else find Moses keeping ability as somewhat limited? I say this because we all remember JT2 saying that he would be the next great shot blocker for the Hoyas. There have been several times where he was the secondary defender coming off his man to try to block a driving opponent and he could not get high enough to block the shot the way Noel did all the time before the injury. Is his ACL fully healed? Did he ever have more lift in his jumping ability, for those who saw him at Kenner before he was injured? JT2 has never been one for hyperbole just to recruit a player, so his comments now in retrospect seem odd.

Even if it's not stress-free on Wednesday, we know that we're going to need our bench bigtime on Saturday.... let's get Aaron and Moses and Domingo out there in the first for some quality minutes, even if we don't have the lead. I expect truly horrific home cooking once again in the big air conditioner, so perhaps Wednesday is one of the games where JT3 asks the refs to be extra insane so our players can acclimate in time.

For those of you who rely on Sports NY in the New York markets, tomorrow's game is NOT on live. They are replaying it on Thursday at 1 pm.

Sead43, I'm a fellow Cablevision user too. It does stink not having the game on TV (and able to DVR it), but I guess we're better off than most places in the country.

In the past my cable listing has showed something other than the Gtown game on SNY when in fact they were playing our game. But in this case, with the SJU/USF game on at the same time, I think we are out of luck.

I am looking forward to going to this game tonight. I have a feeling it will be the highest scoring home game of the year.

Some nervous nellie thoughts from the front page. FIrst depaul has lost 3 ot games. they lost two by five or less. They beat rutgers and have stepped it up. THey have the best offensive efficiency in the big east despite the worst defense. BUT when they score under 68 they lost six games. When we allowed over 68 we lost two games. SO bottom line in what i truly believe is the Biggest most important game this week and maybe of the year MUST SCORE ONE MORE POINT THAN THEM. must keep them under 68 and must hustle for forty or more AND stay out of our dreaded foul trouble to WIN> THIS game is important forget cuse. yup FORGET CUSE> focus on that and we might get trapped. MUST DEFEND AND SCORE> go hoyas ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ps meanary up wash post said that philly tough gave northhampton tough nate a big bloody lip in practice READY FOR WAR BAYI ROCKETS TOUGH go hoyas ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D

THey have the best offensive efficiency in the big east despite the worst defense. According to KenPom, they're 11th in the BE in offensive efficiency.
