Probably going to get killed for asking this, but did anyone see the end of the Maryland- FSU game? It was an amazing choke job. I actually don't mind Turgeon that much, but damn did he poop that one away. Designs a lob play when up 1 with 30 seconds left when you've got Dez Wells' been getting to the rim at will. Then Wells leaves Snaer (who's probably hit 4 game winners) wide open for the game winner. If you want real comedy and proof of what a bunch of UMD homers are at WaPo, check out the article for their game. This guy has his nose so far up Turgeon's behind, it's pathetic: www.washingtonpost.com/sports/maryland-vs-florida-state-late-three-pointer-sinks-terps-73-71/2013/01/30/69c3aafc-6b54-11e2-af53-7b2b2a7510a8_story.html Love this quote from Turgeon: “I’m rambling, but we made huge strides as a basketball team tonight. Really first time all year I really felt like I was coaching. We actually ran the plays we called, followed the defensive game plan.”

So is part of Maryland's offense not giving the ball to Alex Len, a top 5 pick in the 2013 draft who they completely lucked into getting? He barely gets shots, despite being far and away their best player.
There was a short period where we were recruiting Nick Faust I think. Glad we didn't get that guy. Can't shoot to save his life, but god does he love to shoot.

There were a lot of people on here talking up MD's players and how they were more talented than us. Well, how do you feel now?

The Examiner and I think it was the Baltimore Sun also provided an excessive tonguebath based on Turgeon's previous press conference: Turgeon chafed at the notion that his team is playing below expectations, which were perhaps inflated by a 13-game winning streak, accomplished largely against non-conference softies.
"Unless you're [Kentucky], you don't go from 17-15 to the national championship game," Turgeon said. "I know there's some people around here that think we should be in the Final Four, but they're not realistic. Who knows where we'll be two months from now? We could be a heck of a team. We've got a lot of improving to do to do that. I like the way we're heading."
Fun Fact: next Thursday will be the one-year anniversary of the Twerps' last conference road win. Don't forget cupcakes for the Umd fan in your life.

Providence Lost a heart breaker to UConn in OT 82-79 The Friars had a pretty good look to send it to a second OT but their 3pt attempt rimmed out at the buzzer. The friars spotted Uconn a double digit lead by starting two walk ons and sitting Council and Henton. But once they came in Providence had the better run of play. Providence switched to zone and Uconn had no clue how to attack it. We should definitely zone Uconn.
13 Michigan came back from a big deficit to defeat Illinois. 80-75
Mt. St. Mary's defeated Quinnipiac 77-73
9 Butler is down 15 @ St. Louis with 7 minutes left over on CBS sports
