Link hereSome good news to break up the depression from the last couple of games. And looking at the list may help to remind us that he is only a Soph! Congrats to Otto. Keep working!

Good for him. He hasn't particularly played like it the past two games though. He has played like a good supporting cast guy, but we need more out of him than that.

As I recall Jeff had a sophomore slump and was fabulous thereafter. Let's hope that happens with Otto.
Otto is our best player but right now that says as much about the team as about him. He's a #2 or #3 guy on a really elite team.

Jeff's shooting was down significantly his sophomore year.

Yep, that's the way I remember it. And then his junior year was the best any player has had under JT3.

You have to go back a bit but it's still not accurate. Mike Sweetney was a better college player than Jeff. Let's not even bother going to Mourning or Ewing.

I don't think it says THAT much about the team... he's a future lottery pick and would be the best player on all but about half a dozen teams in the country.

Yeah, show me the teams that he would be the #3 guy on. Just looking at that list of 25, some have better numbers and are more consistent this year, but there aren't too many I would take over Porter. There are plenty of things to worry about or complaint about with this team. Do our fans really need to manufacture negativity with outlandish crap.

This makes no sense considering he ranks Porter 2nd on his ballot
"Victor Oladipo, Indiana: I’m just not sure there’s a player out there that does more for his team than Oladipo. The one possibility could be Oklahoma State freshman Marcus Smart, who could be an even better leader. But right now I think Oladipo is more polished as a player. And it helps that he plays for the No. 1-ranked team in the country."

The only thing that would make it make sense is that he thinks that Smart is higher on the list than Otto, except that OK State is not as good as the Hoyas. (Oddly, he doesn't rank Smart in his top 5 at all).

The media are a bunch of idiots… It’s not the best player on the best team award, It’s the Player of the Year. Dipo and Otto both play SF, switch Dipo with Otto and how many games you got the Hoyas winning? Now put Otto on IU and tell me they just didn’t get better...
