On this day in 1921, Armistice Day as it was called then, the unknown soldier from World War I was buried in Arlington Cemetery. The Georgetown ROTC unit, representing all ROTC units in the country, marched in the parade to the cemetery. My father, class of '22, marched with that unit. He once told me that, in addition to the solemnity of the occasion, his greatest recollection of that day was that they were assembled early in the day and not dismissed until late in the day. By that time their kidneys were about to burst and each one immediately took off to the nearest place where they could relieve themselves.
