You are correct that he doesn't have the name recognition, but Cruz was just as unknown as late as January 2011. One of the problems for Democrats in Texas is that the Republican primary draws so much cash and media attention that the winner comes out with a strong profile and a sizable war chest. The Democratic candidate is comparatively broke.

A lawn sign phenomena I don't think I've ever seen before but I've seen twice now - multi-party lawn signs on the same lawn. In both cases, it was Scott Brown and Joe Kennedy III. Can't figure out whether it's an independent, a Democrat who likes Scott Brown, or a Republican who likes the Kennedys.

WHO WINS CONTROL OF THE SENATE? Democrats
WHO WINS CONTROL OF THE HOUSE? Republicans
WHAT ARE THE HOUSE TOTALS FROM EACH SIDE? Honestly, I'm not even going to try to calculate this. I'll just say, for the sake of the bet, Dems pick up 10 seats. Don't think they have a chance to re-take the House, but hard to imagine Republicans increasing their advantage here. So 232-203.
WHO WINS THE AZ SENATE SEAT? Flake (R)
WHO WINS THE CT SENATE SEAT? Murphy (D) (Would like to pick the upset here, but can't bring myself to pull the trigger on it)
WHO WINS THE FL SENATE SEAT? Nelson (D)
WHO WINS THE IN SENATE SEAT? Mourdock (R)
WHO WINS THE MA SENATE SEAT? Brown (R) (I'll take this one as an upset - based on the current polls anyway -- instead of Linda McMahon)
WHO WINS THE MO SENATE SEAT? McCaskill (D) (Biggest wasted opportunity for Republicans in the whole country)
WHO WINS THE MT SENATE SEAT? Rehberg (R)
WHO WINS THE ND SENATE SEAT? Berg (R)
WHO WINS THE NV SENATE SEAT? Heller (R)
WHO WINS THE VA SENATE SEAT? Kaine (D)
WHO WINS THE WI SENATE SEAT? Thompson (R)
(Senate races in NV and WI help Romney to take those states, per my picks in the other thread).

Lot of reaching and wishful thinking by Boz in both threads.
WHO WINS CONTROL OF THE SENATE? Democrats
WHO WINS CONTROL OF THE HOUSE? Republicans
WHAT ARE THE HOUSE TOTALS FROM EACH SIDE? (235-200)
WHO WINS THE AZ SENATE SEAT? Flake (R)
WHO WINS THE CT SENATE SEAT? Murphy (D)
WHO WINS THE FL SENATE SEAT? Nelson (D) (How does NoDak see Mack winning this??)
WHO WINS THE IN SENATE SEAT? Donnelly (D) (Let's hope, for the sake of sane people everywhere)
WHO WINS THE MA SENATE SEAT? Warren (D) (This one isn't a toss up anymore)
WHO WINS THE MO SENATE SEAT? McCaskill (D)
WHO WINS THE MT SENATE SEAT? Rehberg (R)
WHO WINS THE ND SENATE SEAT? Berg (R)
WHO WINS THE NV SENATE SEAT? Heller (R)
WHO WINS THE VA SENATE SEAT? Kaine (D) (Part of the reason Obama will win VA)
WHO WINS THE WI SENATE SEAT? Baldwin (D) (again, no chance Romney wins WI)

Ummm...for all the "reaching" you are claiming I am doing, I count a whole three differences in our picks in this thread.
I guess time will tell.
Anyone who goes into this thinking they have a high level of confidence on ANY of these picks is kidding themselves.

I think most of your reaching was done in the presidential thread, although I think Thompson and Brown, in particular, are major reaches.

Different predictions are part of the fun. If we all had the same map as 538 or unskewedpolls, it'd be kind of boring.
Boz, are we betting signatures or anything this time?
Also, in retrospect, I should have included Nebraska Senate and Maine's 2nd Congressional district in the Presidential questionnaire.

I still don't understand the "wishful thinking" part. Sure, I took a couple of long shots in the Senate thread. That's part of the fun.
As for the presidential thread, either Obama or Romney is going to win. Whoever does win, the people who picked that candidate are going to be "mostly" correct in the down-ballot guesses. The people who picked the losing candidate are going to get most of those wrong too.
Anyway, whatever. Like I said, we'll know soon enough.
(And in any case, I'm not capable of sandbagging like EasyEd, haha! ;D )
TC: I'm happy to do signatures again. Say, for a month? Unless you have something different in mind.
All of the rest of you should feel free to make side bets as well. TC and I just wager pretty much for bragging rights, but feel free to wager more tangible....uh-oh. Better shut up before I violate board rules! ;D

Question of the morning out here - is Tammy Baldwin as far left as Ron Johnson is right? How WI elected these two 24 months apart is still a little hard to figure.
