Who dat starting 0-3? ;D If your team can't gain more yards than Jamaal Charles, you deserve to lose.
Bill Belichick pulling a Bill Cowher by chasing after the refs. Does the impasse get resolved this week?
Pats and Steelers both 1-2. Ouch. Packers too?
So much for the Peyton to the Super Bowl talk.

The ref situation is beyond ridiculous.
When's the last time you heard NFL announcers not defend the shield?
Both Al Michaels and Collinsworth last night came right out and said these guys are not qualified for the job they are doing.
And they're right.
Of course, I don't know that this fact makes it any easier to get a deal done. Might even make it harder.
Anyway, my heart goes out to Torrey Smith. That was pretty inspiring to watch last night. Don't know how he was able to do that.

Its hard to say how much the refs actually affect the game, because we dont wee the normal refs reffing the games. Are they perfect, of course not. But neither were the regular refs.

I am the last person to call NFL officials perfect, but come on now!
There have been multiple occasions this season when these replacement refs don't even know the rules. About where penalties can be enforced, marching off the wrong yardage, and much more like that.
And if there was any consistency in the manner with which they were calling games (say, uniformly allowing more down field contact), I'd be fine and say, "just adjust to it."
But they're not calling penalties with any consistency. And I think that's patently obvious to pretty much anyone.

The games are all being called the same so the players and coaches should be adjusting to that instead of complaining as much as they are.

How do you adjust to your opponent getting extra timeouts and challenges?

How do you adjust to your opponent getting extra timeouts and challenges? Obviously I was not referring to those situations. The extra timeouts, missed calls etc happen with or without the replacements. I will say the amount of time it takes to make all of the calls and discussions is way over the top and hurts the flow of the game. In the end these guys are in over their head but they're going to be here a while so people are just going to have to live with it.

I'm sorry, but if you think this is just a matter of "adjusting," then I can only conclude that you're not actually watching any NFL football games. Tonight is a bleeping travesty. EDIT: like I said...travesty

Well, now the replacement refs have officially affected the outcome of a game.

Terrible call, but that is why the db is supposed to knock that ball down instead of trying to intercept a Hail Mary.

There is a "real" ref (non replacement) in the video booth who makes that call on review, so just remember that.
Also Green Bay could have, you know, scored more than 12 points, or gotten a first down on that last possession.
Either way that was a hell of a lot of fun to watch!

According to the official in the (broadcasting) booth, the call at the end was not reviewable, at least with respect to possession.
Mike McCarthy needs to get fined tonight.

It's just laughable on so many levels.
The last call in the game was only one part of the craziness though.
Anyone see the interference call on Shields?
How about the roughing the passer call on Wilson while he was scrambling? There is no way anyone can watch that play and tell me with a straight face that referee knows what the rule is. He just saw a quarterback get tackled by the legs and said, "oh, you're not allowed to hit them low!" Idiot.
I think my favorite though, and it happens pretty much every game, is when they all gather together after a play and just kind of look at each other hoping someone knows the correct call.
