Nebraska prospect Agau Names A Leader Jeff Green had a great career at Georgetown and is now having a strong NBA career. Now, the Hoyas are pitching that same situation to Akoy Agau of Team Nebraska Express. The 2013 combo forward likes the idea, too, so much so that he told Rivals.com on Friday at UA Summer Jam that John Thompson's squad was leading for his services. "I would be utilized well in that system playing as a combo forward," he said. "I like their pitch about having a similar situation to Jeff Green, too." Agau also holds offers from Florida, Missouri, UConn, West Virginia, Nebraska, Tulsa, Oklahoma State, Villanova and Cincinnati, among others. The No. 90 player in the Rivals150 recently took trips to West Virginia and Georgetown following NBPA Camp in June. If Louisville was to offer him - sources say that could happen soon - the Cardinals would be right in the mix for the 4-star prospect. As he hopes to narrow his list to ten by August, Agau may end up waiting out a college decision until the completion of his senior season of basketball. While his recruitment his still far away from being a wrap, look for Georgetown to continue their strong push for Agau this July. recruitscoop.rivals.com/content.asp?CID=1387530

@jerrymeyer247 Akoy Agau says Georgetown is his favorite cause system fits his skill set. Has a valid point. Also named WVU, Nebraska and Connecticut.
@jerrymeyer247 Akoy Agau has talent. Passing well, comfortable w ball, strong physique. Needs to develop a hunger to score. Difference n he and Eric Mika.
@reggierankin Liking the size and skill of 6'9 Akoy Agau of Team Nebraska Express nice touch in close. Pass out post and spots up for 3's. Nice Package!

Great body and seems like he has good fundamentals. Just based on that tape looks like he needs to work on his quickness and hops a bit. Would be great for us at the 4.

I thought the nebraska guys were saying he was an extremely agressive rebounder and attacker of the glass.

"Omaha Central standout Akoy Agau recently told an ESPN reporter that Georgetown is his favorite choice for college. Agau made the announcement during an interview at the Under Armour NY2LA Summer Jam tournament in Milwaukee. “Of course, that prompted many phone calls and text messages,” Nebraska Express coach Scott Hammer said. “I think he's just very comfortable with the coaches, and he's comfortable with the offense they run. And the reputation of the school kind of really excited him.” - www.omaha.com/article/20120725/PREPZONE/707259847/1001

Sounds like he's as good as ours at least at the moment. Gotta stay on him. And is his last name pronounced Uh-gow or what?

Easy there. He isn't deciding until the spring (or so he has said). If he were as good as ours, he would sign early.
We are apparently in the lead, so that's great. He looks like the type of versatile forward we have done well with.

If he is serious about the Hoyas then waiting for Spring makes sense to see what, if any, scholarships open up. No way to know that in the Fall. Besides, even if there is an opening, it seems that the position of the departing player is important as to whether there is a scholarship available. I imagine that if a guard or wing leaves early the Hoyas would not be looking for a power forward to fill that slot.

www.prepforce.com/video/1882/2013-pf-akoy-agau-puts-player-on-a-posterNebraskaHSHoops Breaking @nebraskahshoops News! Akoy Agau@ZeroTheHeroAkoy Has just received an official offer from Rick Pitino and #Louisville ErikWKohl Akoy Agau demonstrated during Eric Behrens session. Akoy is the best high school communicator I've ever seen. Makes his teammates RobinWashut Talked to Akoy Agau today. Said his list is far from finalized. #Nebrasketball still a contender. Likely won't decide on a school until Mar.
