"What are the schools that are recruiting you? Bradley: Georgetown, Memphis, Virginia Tech, Arkansas, UConn, Georgia, Florida, Texas A&M, Mississippi State and Temple. What visits are you planning? Bradley:: I'm planning on Memphis and Georgetown visits. I'm going to try to visit Florida and UConn" www.uconnball.com/content/bradley-hayes-rise-391/

They can't play in either tournament this year and it's probably a 100% guarantee that calhoun wont last the 4 years you are there.

I think they are a good program to and even though they can't play in the tournament next season, I plan on staying for longer so that doesn't bother me"

I'm beginning to really like this kid. Seems to know his strengths and weaknesses. I have no doubt that after 4 years at the hilltop, he'd set up nicely for the League.

www.zagsblog.com/2012/04/13/coaches-flocking-to-watch-bradley-hayes/Family advisor Todd Washington told SNY.tv Hayes worked out Friday for Florida State, Arkansas, Mississippi State, UConn and Oklahoma State. Memphis, Arkansas and Texas A&M have offered. Arkansas also has a home visit today (Friday), Texas A&M has one Saturday and next week he will host Florida State, Florida, Georgetown, Rhode Island and Georgia

This sounds like a situation where a ton of teams who struck out earlier in the recruiting period on big men are desperate to get in front of Hayes, who is probably a decent prospect, but not nearly as good as the late, frenzied interest might suggest. Kind of like a Moses situation.
I get a little nervous when these desperate situations crop up. Don't want to stub your toe compliance-wise getting caught up in shiitestorm.

What level of competition has BH played against? Where is he academically? I the thought of recruiting a kid that can get a triple double with blocks. If we can land either RU or BH the sting of losing NN will definately lessen............

If we can land either RU or BH the sting of losing NN will definately lessen............ The rumors are as follows.. 1) Read in a article Hayes needs to pass one core math class to be Division I-eligibile. Read on the internet 90% he will not qualify and will be forced to prep a year. 2) He plays in Northern Florida so the competition is average. Not a lot of great players come from NF but not a lot of players in NF are 6-11.. 3) Florida could not watch him yesterday so Billy D and JT3 will watch him on Wed. We were already scheduled and Florida is joining the party. 4) If he does prep expect IMG Academy will be the destination..

so couldn't GU bring him in, redshirt him and have him ready for '13? Theoretically, the Hoyas are fine at the 4/5, so depth is there. Realistically however, a 6'11, 250-lb. kid with huge upside and skills can't be passed up on. Plus, we don't know what we'll get from Mo and Ty. Better guard play will lessen the need for outstanding post play.

If we get Hayes we need to either redshirt him or Bolden

Seems a lot like the Kadeem Jack recruitment. He was a late available big that everyone was suddenly on including UNC. Then when he inevitably had to prep a year(just like Hayes will likely have to do) the list of schools knocking down the door substantially shrank. So he ended up having to settle for Rutgers.
I'm not getting to worked up about this kid because more likely than not he'll end up being a '13 recruit.

I'm pretty solidly in the "trust the staff" camp, but I can't help but be a bit worried about a kid who had trouble staying academically eligible in high school.

Weren't there questions about whether Jeff could handle gtown academically? or were those unfounded, i cant remember back that far? Any way: [urlhttp://www.zagsblog.com/2012/04/18/bradley-hayes-down-to-four-schools/[/url] Hayes down to Four: Gtown, Florida, Texas A&M, UConn. Gtown has an in home tonight (wed) which is consistent with earlier reports. Says he hasnt met the staff- could be good (make a ton of progress) or bad (interest isnt as strong as once thought). Only troubling thing is that the like Uconn's history of putting big men in the league like Hasheem Thabeet and Andre Drummund; ok....

In fairness, it hasnt been very helpful recently with guys which we have been early to the party either. We need a competent center next year though for sure. Not sure what people are basing their level of comfort in Moses/Adams on because if they are starting, we are not elite. Mikael is solid, but WAY undersized to be logging heavy minutes there. Clearly the staff has made bringing a big in a focus. Lets get this done.

How is he any more of a sure thing than Moses, Tyler, and Mikael? Some of you are reaching and too willing to dismiss guys already on the team.
