Someone asked me this a few weeks ago and I had no answer. Did we recruit Thomas Robinson? As I recall, he was ranked, but not the top PF recruit in his class, more like in the 30's or 40's overall. Did we make a run at him? What happened?

Not really. He blew up really late. He was a stringbean at Eastern, then transferred to Riverdale Baptist where he started to put it together, then went to a prep school in New England where he finally became a big time prospect.

I didn't know he was from the 202 until the title game. Since he played for Riverdale, he was coached by Don Reid's old HS bball coach..

IIRC Kansas had zero MCDonald Americans this year but got within 10 pts of a talented Kentucky team for a championship. The key clogs were an imperfect but experienced and dynamic guard, a late bloomer in Robinson, and a transfer in Withey, and decent depth. All it takes is peices to fall together and good coaching. We don't a savior, just III to continue to improve, some luck and devleop who we have.
