Does this crap really matter anymore? I have a novel approach--go beat someone you will be playing next Thursday/Friday. I've seen months of talk of RPI, Seeding, Etc...since '08 and they have 1 NCAA win. Just get ready to play and tighten things up. I'll settle for a competitive game after the last 2 appearances as progress. All that matters is who you will play--and rest is out of your hands--upsets, matchups, etc...so just beat who is on the schedule and more importantly--be prepared to play them. This program has a lot at stake this upcoming week and I fully expect them to meet the challenge--but it's talk like this around here that makes me wonder if focus isn't on what it needs to be--guys--the RPI/BPI/Rankings/Seeding dont' decide anything of importance. You get to play it out and with this Hoya team--I'd prefer they are the hunter instead of hunted--because for whatever reason they've shown they play more relaxed and their best when they are overlooked.

In a grander scheme today we're also rooting for:
Kentucky over Florida
Duke over Florida St
Missouri over Baylor
Ohio St over Michigan
Michigan St over Wisconsin
New Mexico over San Diego St
Basically we want any team that's currently projected as a 3,4,5, or 6 to lose to reduce the chance of them jumping us on the 3 line. I think we're pretty secure there, but the sooner the above teams lose the better.

Still matters a lot, as the mock selection committee showed: "Every "nitty gritty" page the NCAA uses, every fact and figure and list of top 50 wins and strength of schedule and noncon SOS and you name it is broken down based on RPI. You can't sit in the selection room and not be affected by RPI. On second thought, I'm not 100 percent certain Michigan is a lock to be seeded ahead of us at the moment. So go OSU. |

I can't help but think this is more or less set in stone. Yes if Wisc and Mich lose today, there is a chance we will leapfrog them, but I just don't see it. |

Wisconsin getting pounded by Michigan St. Can't see how anybody could put them ahead of us.
I said days ago that if Indiana lost to Wisconsin and Wisconsin lost their game after that, we'd be a 3. I think that still stands. My guess is we'll be the last 3 seed regardless of what Michigan does later today.

I don't get how everyone thinks we are set as the 4 with such certainty. As HSB said we need some results to go our way...and knock on wood so far they have. Indiana losing was the biggie in my eyes i think they could have leapfrogged us. Marquette losing helped. Wisconsin losing helped. Need Michigan to go down especially and Florida State as well. I think we are in a good position

I say its 60/40 in favor of a three seed. Who wins the BET doesnt matter with regards to our seeding.
3 or 4 the match up will be most important, and looking at years past the committee will undoubtably find the worst match up possible for gtown.
