The Big East is wide open this year outside of (and it friggin pains me to say it) Syracuse. Thing is, if some of the questions I mentioned earlier end up having yes answers, it's not out of the question that we can take down the Orange too. Disagree. I'm not sure why Syracuse is ranked so high right now. They beat Florida who are an okay team but that's basically it. The sleeping giant in the big east is UConn. By the end of the season they will be the true force and better than Cuse. Fab Melo is just too slow and uncoordinated to handle Andre Drummond. Then you have Oriachi, Olander and Smith as big man support. Both teams are tough but UConn will be scary. That's the game we are going to need Lubick and his 5 fouls because he's the only one with any bulk that can keep Drummond from backing down and slam dunking in the paint. You may be right about UConn but I'm not yet in awe of a team that squeaks by South Florida and Florida State and loses to UCF with zero signature wins.

Temper your expectations and Moderation in your predictions. I love the non-word! It sums up my approach.

If Hoyas lose to UConn and Cuse, but beat everybody else, I'm happy.

If Hoyas lose to UConn and Cuse, but beat everybody else, I will throw up in my mouth a bit, but I guess the season would be considered a success. Fixed it for you ;D

Kenpom gives Georgetown a 0.3% chance of going unbeaten in conference play, so I say we should be gunning for that!

He has us as a three seed in the West Region and on the rise. Think you may be referring to his earlier bracket.

You may be looking at an old version. He now has us as a #3, which I think is right if the selection committee made its picks tonight

Interesting to note that our RPI is up to No. 9 acc'g to the Warren Nolan website. As currently situated, we have a chance for two Top 25 RPI wins this week vs. Marquette and @ WV. Incredibly tough week to pick up 2 wins...if we can somehow do it, watch out world.

Tough week for sure. Let's get that first win tomorrow and see where the team goes from there.

Even tougher when you consider we have Cinci at home on Monday after playing @ Morgantown on Saturday.

Even tougher when you consider we have Cinci at home on Monday after playing @ Morgantown on Saturday. After the China trip, I don't think we should be afraid of Cincy.

If we would beat WVU in Morgantown Saturday, obviously we would jump UConn but would it be enough to jump Puke in the rankings?

In the AP yes in the Coaches no, but lets take care of business against WV first.

Up to #6 in the RPI as well, with the WVU and Cincy games likely to strengthen our SOS (currently 23rd) even more.
