Nova and Pitt are struggling. Looks about same to me: 1. Nova hacks and makes a basketball game a 2hr 30 min will of FT shooting and standing boredom. Nova got their ass kicked when it was basketball and then they turned game into a foul fest and Jay Wright stalking sidelines acting like he's coaching. 2. Pitt is tough and that is all that matters. They have a really crappy team. Not much skill and not very good defensively either. But they have a lot of guys who scowl a lot and Dixon still whines, cries, stomps, and badmouths Georgetown, so all is well in Pittsburgh.

Agreed rdf. I'm not sure I've ever seen 4 guys foul out of a 40 minute game as nova did when playing quette. Ugly, ugly ball. Also, (outside of possibly Memphis) not sure I've seen so many high profile 5 star recruits consistently underperform. Ty Johnson may end up being a very good player although he seems like he's still a year or two away from that. Wonder if ochefu has buyer's remorse.
As for Pitt....when wannamaker graduated, they lost the only guy who could create his own shot and get to the line. Without him, defenses are collapsing on Gibbs and he looks lost.

I hear you Nevada, but I cut him some slack because he's actually running the place. Okay, I will give Father Scott a break. I hope Nova and traitor Pitt stay beatable when we play them.

Pitt has one dude. It'll still be tough to beat them, but they're not the bullies on the block this year.

I hope III got some of those blatant fouls on Henry aware at the Commisioner's level and maybe, just maybe the refs will be a little more vigilant. It's one thing to blow a fast whistle when someone is taking a shot and another to swallow it when the bigs are jockeying for position. You shouln't be able to hit a guy in the mouth intentionally with your forearm .

Can we put him in touch with the Aarrow sign flippers? Those would be some worthwhile messages to spin....

So it appears Marquette's game plan defensively is to double the post which the fans bemoan as it leaves shooters wide open. Let's hope we're knocking down our shots as it looks like Marquette will collapse in on Henry.

Davante Gardner has the surface area of a 7 footer though.

So we could field the jumbo line up (Sims, Porter, Hollis, Whittington, and Starks/Clark/Trawick) and they could be in trouble.

Count me worried about Gardner. I remember him scoring a bunch against us last year, and particularly Henry. Henry may have problems dealing with that kid's weight on the defensive end, though he should be in good shape on the boards and using his speed on the offensive end.

He scored 12 points in only 10 minutes last year, but he also fouled out. He's still pretty foul prone this year as well.

I was wondering where Otule had been. I think Henry can get his shot off against Gardner and then Crowder if he comes on the double. Hollis and Nate better be ready to feast as well.
