Another reason Jeff might be better off elsewhere: saw the highlights of last night's game on ESPN this morning. As they replay Jeff driving from the wing into the lane to hit a 10-footer with 4 seconds left to tie the game and send it to OT - the anchor, as the screen spotlights Durant outside the 3-point line, emphasizes Green "passing up an open Durant for what would have been a game-winning 3"! The disappointment in his voice - at a game-tying shot - is clear. No way to avoid being sucked into the Durant void.

Of course he only drove because he mishandled the ball in the first place and couldn't get it to Durant...

On edit, it was a bad pass by Durant.

I can't think that this would be anything but great news for Roy. Only bad would be if they were to get a run and gun coach but honestly this move makes me think they see more in the current team make-up then how O'Brien was coaching it. EDIT: Seems like the promoted a current assistant...lets see what he does with the RoyMonster

If Roy keeps playing the way he has been it won't matter who the coach is. This board is way too quick to blame external factors for our ex-players struggles.

Yeah, it's been a real struggle for Roy lately. It may be that the board is way too quick to blame external factors for some of the struggles. On the other hand, it may also be that some on the board are way too quick to throw these guys under the bus. And I am referring to Jeff primarily. I realize the expectations are high, given he was a 5th pick, but I just don't get some of the negativity. Greg had 15 pts and 17 rebs in a loss to the Knicks tonight.

Roy scored only 2 points Saturday night in the loss to the Bulls, but he had 5 blocks, 5 rebounds, and 2 assists in 21 minutes and the team was +4 when he was in and -25 when he was out.
His main problem is that he has been missing shots and it has gotten in his head. He needs to get his confidence back somehow.

O'Brien out!! IMO, it'll be good for Roy. Time will tell... sports.espn.go.com/nba/news/story?id=6074127On Bird: He felt that O'Brien's public berating of center Roy Hibbert damaged the 7-foot-2 center's confidence. Bird and Vogel agreed that Hibbert is an important piece of the team's future. Right on, Larry!

Why oh why would anyone think that a coach reeming his talented talented center—who he has just started giving serious minutes to this season—would hurt the player's confidence?
What a jackass.

Greg looked very good last night, especially on the boards. Unfortunately the Pistons are spiraling downhill pretty quickly - although that may mean more time and more patience with Greg, and maybe some opportunity for DS as well.

That pic makes DaJaun look a bit heavy. Glad Monroe is making the most of his opportunity. 15 and 17 last night. Big numbers.
