Jeff looked okay, shot wasn't falling but he played under control, rebounded well and found open teammates for easy buckets.
Who makes the team ultimately will have little to do with who actually played well last night, but looking at the numbers, it would seem that him and Kevin Love might be fighting for one spot.
However, I would have to think that Jeff should have the advantage since, in the international game, he can conceivably play three positions and that kind of versatility would serve the team well with the lack of depth in the frontcourt.

I also think/hope it will help that Durant is "the man" on this Team USA. Hopefully, he will have some sway and will give Jeff a little bump.

"He has to control the paint. It's not his choice, it's his responsibility, it's his duty, it's his obligation. He has to learn how to do that on an individual basis. He has to learn how to do that on a team basis. It's a matter of how hard he's willing to work not just physically but mentally, as well, and to train his mind so that in the heat of battle he can make the correct decisions that are going to allow him to become a great champion and return the Pacers to their rightful place among the hierarchy of the NBA."
Is this Bill Walton? Sounds like RDF or the_way.

you wouldn't be suggesting that RDF or the_way ustilize the same herbal supplements Walton is famous for indulging in, would you?
and no, those quotes don't do anything to convince me Walton has changed his hippie ways;-)

competition for minutes and rebounds. Murphy was a hoover for easy defensive rebounds that didn't take much effort. Also gives Pacers opportunity to get defensive-minded 4 to play alongside HIbbert which would lead to extended minutes for Big Roy. If that happens, I could see Roy being an 18 and 8 guy.

But Troy Murphy was their MVP! (Or so says Jim O'Brien).

But Troy Murphy was their MVP! (Or so says Jim O'Brien). JOB blows. He's still stating, at least at the end of last season, he still see's Roy as a situational starter for the club. God forbid he start more than the 41 games he started last season - he'd have no trouble getting to Brasky's 18 & 8 prediction.

Thats awesome...great that the franchise is letting Roy do that. Good thing Roy already had his own cheer ;-)

JOB will be gone after this year. I think the Pacers are waiting on a lockout in which case they are not stuck paying a coach too. The teams financials are dicey so this makes sense considering they are at least a year or two away.

I still want O'Brien gone (and I think he wil be) but he appears to be finally coming around some on how to use Roy. The second part especially contain some interesting info on what the Pacers are planning:(starting at the 1:04 mark)

"[H]e has earned the right to be the type of player that you talked about."
As expected, the work ethic is there, and it sounds like he'll get his shot to put up numbers this year.
