After the statement that he made, Boeheim is cooked whether he knew anything or not. He called the victim a liar who only wanted money and staked his reputation on Bernie Fine's innocense. Bad idea....given what has come to light in telephone recording.

PAYBACK TIME HAS COME FOR FINE/BOEHEIM----you boys gotta go and make sure you put them in general population--so they can get the rightful punishment they deserve.
Boeheim had to know it's beyond strange to have a ballboy accompany a coach on a recruiting trip (this never got back to him??) and to see him in the room? Of course Jim was probably on his way to make sure his players were doing their homework.
Not like Cuse puts basketball ahead of development of people-(Cheddar Bob multiple offenses against society) and remember when Cuse Assistant/HC in waiting Mike Hopkins was quoted as saying "I was drawn to rivalry with Georgetown/BE when I saw Cuse fans throwing oranges/bananas at Georgetown". Classy.

Bad idea....given what has come to light in telephone recording. And now he's "no commenting" on the story". I don't want to hear Pops Thompson defending Boeheim on this one bit. He attacked a victim and defended a child molestor. He doesn't deserve any iota of the benefit of the doubt here if he's not willing to mea culpa and to publicly defend himself.

Bring them all down. I don't care about being objective. ::Bleep:: Syracuse and everyone associated with the basketball program.
Oh, and right now I'm giving the finger to fat boy Jason Whitlock who went on a rant about journalistic ethics in regards to the reporting ESPN/OTL was doing regarding Bernie Fine. Fat boy is just mad that ESPN dumped him a few years back and he never gets invited back on. There are countless complaints one can make regarding ESPN, but the work of Mark Schwarz and Outside the Lines is typically superb and professional.

So the phone call came in 2002, but the Syracuse PD said there was no corroborating evidence in 2005? Somebody's got some major explaining to do.
This whole story just keeps getting worse.

It is hard to believe that ESPN and the Post Standard had knowledge of the phone call in '02 but the PD and University had no evidence.

While Boeheim's knowledge of this situation remains unclear (and the facts unclear but getting worse by the minute), I wonder whether he is going to the way of Paterno but stepping down on his own. As much as they love their basketball in Syracuse, they love winning the right way more than anything else, and they are not long for these kinds of disciplinary issues IMO, even if it appears otherwise with the Devendorf, Deshaun Williams, Burgan, et al. kinds of issues. Boeheim is not oblivious to this I don't think.

Cuse is going down on this. Great timing with the move to the ACC as well. They will be shell of themselves once Boeheim steps down. They are in trouble.

For all of the investigating to be done here, where is Pete Thamel? He wrote a Boeheim stands by Fine story. Anything else? Just a side observation...

He's certainly demonstrated an unabashed ability to viciously attack every other college program in the country. Yet this journalistic superpower is strangely impotent in upper New York. I wonder why that is...

Seriously, if Boeheim isn't gone after his rant against the accusers, then Syracuse is lower and more disgusting than I could have imagined.

He's supposed to release a statement tonight. For his sake I hope he drafts it with the help of a lawyer and a PR person unlike his first public statement.

It's getting interesting around here to say the least. Seems like with all the local press any of the new facts are still coming from outside sources. Most who are diehards fans around here are 50/50 on whether JB should fall on this too. That slimeball better start out any statement by first apologizing to the accusers.

Not good at all. Syracuse next plays on Tuesday night versus Eastern Michigan, a team, ironically, coached by a former SU assistant that just left this past year.

Boeheim needs to go.
I don't see it happening, though.
