I didn't know where else to put this, so: I saw Hart play last night against Pallotti and he did something I have never seen before. He had THIRTY free throws in a regulation game. He also had 23 boards.
FWIW, Pallotti has a really good junior guard Marcquise Reed and a long 6'8 junior big Tariq Owens. Reed is probably a level below our caliber of recruit, but still a sleeper. Owens needs a ton of weight on him, but has offers from USF and Seton Hall right now.
Also, I wonder if Hart and Kris Jenkins have been watching Nova be just god awful this year.

Wasn't GW a lower level recruit sleeper two years ago?

POD, I take it that Hart had the 23 boards and shot 30 free throws (since your post is in the Hart thread), but it reads like you're referring to Owens.

Wasn't GW a lower level recruit sleeper two years ago? Yes. But he was also a 6'8 guard with skills. Reed is more like 6'3, but I really like him. I wanted to see Pallotti because they beat Phil Booth and Kam Williams' Mt. St. Joe's team that was ranked #1 in the Baltimore Sun. He apparently was great against them.

Saw Josh Hart drop 34 on Gonzaga last night - dropping threes and attacking the rim at will. He is by far the best player in a tournament that contains a number of big time recruits (including a few that Gtown is looking at). JTIII, Turgeon, Larry Brown and others in the house.
All things being equal, I like long players but talent, heart and the ability to put the ball in the bucket have to count for something.

The jury is still out obviously, but in a few years Hart might be one we regret let slip away (or passed on, depending on who you believe)...

The thing is with Hart from what I’ve seen he’s a below average jump shooter and his handle is not great. You can get away with that in HS but in college?? It’s going to be tough…IMO

he could end up being another Olidipo, in that he doesn't fit, we missed, but he's just a better fit elsewhere.

Well, I think the analysis will be: was the schollie to Cameron better than a schollie to Hart. We didn't pass based on need. We signed an alternative SG/SF.

It's not just Kris Jenkins. He just put 39 on Kam Williams, Phil Booth and Mt St Joe's. Set the Gonzaga DC Classic all time scoring record. He's the best player in the DC area.
Kevin Schneider @bigshotsreport Out of the 45 teams & many of the nation's top players that played in DMV this weekend Sidwell's Josh Hart had the most impressive wkend IMO

He's bigger and more physical than Booth and Kam. He'll do well at Nova, but will struggle vs. length and vs. zones unless he improves his jumper.

Put 31 on Dion Wiley and Potomac. He's going to be All-Met player of the year.

Andrew Feather @afeathermvp Hart is really taking control of the floor and finding the open man. Seems to be a great team player #MDHoops
Andrew Feather @afeathermvp Josh Hart with a ferocious dunk. No one on the court can stop him #MDHoops
Marcus Helton @marcushelton Josh Hart seems like he's taken his game to a completely different level. #DMVelite
Devin Williams @meetmeondabench Josh Hart Blew his doors off then dunked on his man ...#HelpDefense?
Brandon Parker @brandoncparker Had several coaches/fans tell me how impressed they were with Sidwell's Josh Hart. Plays like D-Wade with how he attacks rim & gets buckets

I mean DSR tore up high school but has seemed limited thus far in college. Besides we need nova to be strong and Nova needs more good players desperately. I'm not too concerned on passing on Hart.

A strange day when Hoya fans can celebrate Nova nabbing a good recruit. Strange indeed. But I agree. I'd pass on a recruit or two if they could help Seton Hall, Providence, and DePaul, as well.

We had a lot of fun with Scottie Reynolds. Maybe Josh Hart will provide similar enjoyment.
