Primo on the beat with Nas, Big or Jay-z in the 90's was always magical. True story Bronxitos older brother was present in D&D Studios when Unbelievable was made. ha ha ha. One of the best and more underrated Biggie songs.

Knowledge bronx. Gangstarr is one of my favs and Dwyck is still a banger! Nas only behind Rakim, imo, as a lyricist.

Id,
stop saying Rakim is the best ever....he isn't we've had this dicussion. Biggie number one and everyone following him. Rakim is no better than number three....Jigga has that second spot on lock.
other than that, you're right. DWYCK is one of my fav cuts ever....top five all-time single for sure

You can't compare a dude who got injured to one who got filled with bullet holes. Biggie greatest ever. I am from Fulton street though, so I may be a little bit biased

Biggie's career like Davis' was too short to be considered GOAT. He like Davis was a flash of brilliance across the night's sky that illuminated all that saw it. It was awesome but it did not last long enough to be considered GOAT. You can't compare a dude who got injured to one who got filled with bullet holes. Biggie greatest ever. I am from Fulton street though, so I may be a little bit biased

day, I respectfully disagree. Rakim is the standard by which all emcees are judged. 2. Nas 3. Kane 4. Jay 5. Pac. Honorable Mention: Big, Common, Mos, Kweli, G Rap, Slick Rick.
My criteria emcompasses the aspects of delivery, creativity, flow, content and beat. Honestly, you can't go wrong with any of them.
Bonus: The Symphony is the best posse cut ever. 2. Buddy-Native Tongues
rooter, we're old black/hispanic/white guys.
Now, back on topic. You always grab guys when you can without reaching. I think Troy comes in '13 regardless of who's here in '12. Gotta get some top kids in '12 first.

Rakim was an animal, but Biggie is at worst the 3rd best rapper ever. I think he's the GOAT but I could see how people would rank Rakim and maybe Jay over him. That's it.

KRS-1 is goat....Biggie is the Terrel Davis of hip hop. Ding Ding Ding...........KRS-1 never gets the love he deserves but please explain the Biggie statement.......I don't think Biggie was the best lyricist but he is 2nd just because of One More Chance......one song.......two remixes........three flows..........changed the game........

Love KRS....played U must learn on the way into work this morning. His omission from my list wa accidental. I'd replace G Rap or Jay with KRS. Still not better than Rakim though, imo.
MCI, I they'll leave one or two left for '13; prob two schollies. Gotta get Troy and put in work for Noel.

Big's career was great but too brief to warrant GOAT status. Hard to give a man that status after 3 albums. If Method Man died after the What...what would we say about him today? GOAT? KRS-1 is goat....Biggie is the Terrel Davis of hip hop. Ding Ding Ding...........KRS-1 never gets the love he deserves but please explain the Biggie statement.......I don't think Biggie was the best lyricist but he is 2nd just because of One More Chance......one song.......two remixes........three flows..........changed the game........

I'm really biased against Jay since I had to adamantly defend Nas in HS and then he later released Ether which put an end to that discussion. Anyone who would put Jay over BIG is just crazy in my book but the great thing about music is it is subjective and each are entitled to their own opinions. Where's the_way with his Biggie avatar? He needs in on this convo.
"How many of Biggie's rhymes gonna come out your fat lips" - Nas (sums up why Jay can never be over BIG in my opinion)

Gil Scott-Heron and the Last Poets were rap/hip hop before that genre existed.
