LMAO at the Vicky comments above.
And I'm becoming a big fan of these Lion and Bill teams. I hope they keep it up.

Mock Vick all you want. I'm no big fan, by any means.
But betcha' next time there's a borderline hit on him, the other team gets called for it.
Lobbying is a part of sports, like it or not. In most of our cases, not.
But I'm not going to call Vick out for doing what so many players before him did and still do today....lobby for calls.
Man, are the Steelers old. They've still got some great players, but I don't know if they'll last the season playing at a high level (not that that's the level they were playing at last night). EDIT: I think what I meant to say was, "Man the Steelers sure got old in a hurry."

Vick took this to another level by insinuating a conspiracy against him alone. And that fat slob Ed Rendell took the bait and injected race by contrasting calls for Eli, a white quarterback.
In the end, it really won't amount to much because like the sun in the East will always rise, the Eagles and their mouth breathing followers will always end the year disappointed. The fact that they've had to throw their support behind this guy makes it even better.
Make a deal with the devil and still get no payoff.

Worked last year...fat Andy took a break from his parenting duties to complain about hits on Vick and next game a borderline call was made in Vicky's favor. I believe you have to pay a royalty to Phil Jackson when you use the 'lobby for calls' move... hm

I'm guessing it's not the Eagles.

In point of fact, Harry does kind of root for them. I have tried not to intervene as I do not wish to make him an outcast among friends. I do worry however that allowing a child to root for the Eagles is tantamount to child abuse.

See, now I find these types of jabs at Vick perfectly acceptable, as opposed to those directed at him complaining about not getting calls, which most professional athletes do, to one extent or another.
To my knowledge, every professional athlete does not torture small animals for sport. Michael Vick pretty much owns that one.

I think my eight year old daughter roots against the teams I support just to spite me. I've told her that I don't care who she roots for, but for two rules - she can't root for the Celtics or the Yankees. I left USC off that list, so I guess I must be mellowing.

As a Redskins fan it's easy to hate anything Dallas Cowboys but Tony Romo makes it so much easier. I've never seen any quarterback yelling at his teammates like Romo did last night. Always blaming someone else for whatever went wrong.

Always blaming someone else for whatever went wrong. Yeah, but let's not forget the "Golden Boy" Peyton Manning. Every single time he throws an incompletion, he throws his hands up in the air and rolls his eyes. I mean he is as demonstrative as anyone I've ever seen. "MAYBE" that's just how he is and maybe he's saying, "mother of God, please help me to not make such a poor throw next time." But to the layman's eyes, it sure looks like he's showing up his teammates. It's almost like he's saying "how could all of this be happening to me!!!! Me, of all people!!!!"

Six early snaps from center (six!) and a pair of rookies lining up on the wrong side of the backfield will do that to any quarterback, much less one with a bad rib poking him in the side.

Florida fans really hold grudges, don't they? It's been over a decade, champ - let it go. Insofar as Manning is basically the offensive coordinator of that team, there's a pretty good chance that he knows exactly what went wrong on any play. I've seen him mad at himself for making bad passes plenty of times. There's a difference between correcting someone on the field, when they can actually use it ("They were in Cover 2 Man and he was playing you off and inside! You're supposed to run a jet!") and just berating them. It's not like the Cowboys center didn't realize he wasn't supposed to snap the ball into Romo's broken rib. Then again, Manning is so efficient he can actually yell at his teammates during the play: Brown was a rookie tho, so it's all good.

I'm far from a Romo fan by any means but I don't have any problem with him getting mad at players Monday--it wasn't like him showing up Bryant on the field in Jets game which was a punk move--he had actual reasons to be upset with teammates--but the bigger question--does Jason Garrett coach the offense during the week? Ogletree has been in Dallas 3 or 4 years and didn't know where to line up on plays. If the Skins were doing what every team in the league does and barking out the cadence, wouldn't you make an adjustment by the 2nd time it's happened? What about that is difficult to correct and I'm still trying to figure out why you would use a cadence from the gun--when you can easily use a trigger (QB raising leg, QB putting hand down) to snap the ball? Wasting a timeout to decide to punt--why not take the delay penalty? A veteran RB leaping out of bounds to stop the clock and allow Redskins to save a timeout? Skins abandoning the run was what lost the game. They ran the ball/had good mix on drive to put them up a TD and then Jaworski brags about Shanahan's "not abandoning the run-they'll stick to it" and what do they do next series--throw 3 times and go 3 and out. Jaworski never mentioned this either-which he should've. Ed Hochuli continues to embarrass the NFL as well. Both teams had at least 8-10 offsides (Ware did it 3-4 times) or False Starts (Brown and Williams) that went uncalled, Ware getting tackled in open field chasing Grossman goes uncalled, the lack of clerification on "defenseless WR" is a joke--but I blame NFL for that more then Muscles Hochuli---Alan Ball hits Santana Moss in a way that every coach in America supports and it's 15 yard penalty. Laron Landry does same thing to Laurent Robinson and it's a great hit--and it's NOT a penalty. If you have to give guy a chance to catch/run--wouldn't that apply to the sideline as well? My solution--let the players play and eliminate the dumbest rule in football--that takes away great hits--both were clean hits too-Ball used his shoulder to hit Santana Moss in chest--not head, and Landry's hit was a great hit/well timed and clean. Just seems every game with Hochuli involves long winded speeches to explain horrific calls, and the amount of penalties that weren't called and were obvious don't match the calls made that shouldn't. Put the Tight Shirt one out to pasture and fans can rejoice.

Fair enough--but Hochuli is the official--and when they convene for the call-he has final say--which is why some penalties are picked up and it's chaos with his games as usual. Just seems to be that in each sport there are certain guys who controversy and bad work seem to follow and why it's not dealt with by replacing them is beyond strange? Alberto Riveron makes Hochuli look like Red Cashen though. Talk about a guy who has no place in the NFL--geez.

Big trouble brewing for the Seagulls. Their team resembles the cast of the Wizard of Oz with Scarecrow Reid at the helm, Tin Man Vick under center and Cowardly little Desean refusing to run across the middle. It is hard to beleieve that in the history of this loser franchise, that it took this long for them to blow back to back leads like this at home.
1960 forever.
