That gawker article is absolutely right, and I don't care. I can't decide if I more enjoy making snarky comments or the fact that next time an East Coast/West Coast debate comes up, "You have earthquakes" will not longer be a point in the East Coast's favor. Talk to you all next time you have a weather extreme and it's perfect here. One every 114 years! Have fun getting up at 10AM to watch NFL games. Ummm, you say that like it's a bad thing. Everyone I know -- East and West Coast -- prefers it that way. Roll out of bed, see football. Have rest of day.

Pretty funny www.gawker.com/5833738/californians-are-being-insufferable-about-this-earthquake"Listen, we know the average Californian was born amid a thundering 7.5 magnitude quake and popped out directly into a mudslide. We've all read tales of how the bright pioneers of San Francisco bathe their young in tsunamis and kill mountain lions for sport (and yet would shrivel and die if the temperature fell below 65.)" In San Francisco, the temperature commonly gets below 65. In fact, during the summer, sometimes the high doesn't reach 65. Other than that, good stuff and spot on. Yeah, most people I know in DC said that they didn't realize it was an earthquake until after. That pales in comparison to my memory of the 1989 Loma Prieta quake, when it felt like King Kong grabbed my house and was shaking the hell out of it. EDIT: Perfect points on NFL start times, too. I love the 10am starts.
