This kind of reminds me of the old Joke Capitalism and Cows. It makes a joke of all cultures, paralleling them with cow ownership. It begins with a Capitalist Corporation, and describes it as having 2 cows, selling 1 to buy a bull and then raising a herd of cattle and retiring. Then it goes through other cultures. They say a French Corporation has 2 cows and goes on strike because they want 3 cows. An English corporation has 2 cows. They are both mad. A Hindu corporation has 2 cows and worships both of them. Eventually it gets around to the Chinese corporation that has 2 cows. The government claims full employment and arrests anyone who reports otherwise.
Personally, I kind of like the Italian Corporation: you have two cows, but you can't find either of them. You break for lunch.
and
The Arkansas Corporation: you have two cows. That one on the left is kind of cute.

Those Chinese Army thugs looked like they were used to putting vicious smackdowns on people. . .perhaps they were just practicing for the next peaceful Chinese demonstration. . .DEMOCRACY NOW!!!

This is just a minor point, but the video is from the opposite side of the stadium as the pictures we have seen were taken, so adjust your perspective during the reenactments. Zoom in, rotate, enhance?

I didn't think we'd have to play the Red Storm until January or February.

"Although, judging from the early reports it is unclear which team deserves the most blame for the outbreak of violence.)" Really? Also, way to use a recent photo.

A lot of the posts that have been deleted were broadly critical of the Chinese government, commenting on their propensity for cheating in other sporting events, mocking their censorship, and treatment of Tibet, etc. Typical troll stuff. A lot of the UMd-origin posts were just the ludicrous racist crud you expect from those filth, blaming the Hoyas for the Germantown 7-11 flash mob and the like.

If I were III, I'd tell NIKE the tour is over, why woiuld we want to play this team again?. I'd show up, warm up and go to the locker room and get on the team bus. The next game is bound to be a sell out, there was almost as much gray at today's game as there was anything else.

Have you guys seen this teams roster? They are huge! 6 players over 6'10. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bayi_RocketsSays Wang Zhizhi is on that team also. Does anyone know if he was playing in this game?

I lost the link, but I did see an article which gave a handful of statistics. Free throws were 57-15 !!!! Fifty-seven free throws attempted in under 3 quarters???!!! Wow. And to only 15 !!!
Yeah, I know ... I didn't see the game ... if you're a bigger more physical team, you get more calls ... yada yada yada ....
57-15 says it all.
Also, the A.P. article said the game was tied at 64 when JTIII pulled the team off the floor. But someone here said that it was 64-62 when the fight broke out and that they were awarded the 2 free throws after the Hoyas left the floor. I don't think it will matter in the "record books" ... hell, I don't even think there are record books, and if there are, China will put what they want to in them anyway. But I am kind of curious ... not that it matters.

Aaron Bowen was absolutely mugged. From the :20-:30 mark of the video, you see multiple Baiyi guys run him down, pummel him on the ground, and then Baiyi #5 joins in to throw a chair at his face while he's down there. Jason comes in to blow up #5 and knock the chair out of his hands in the midst of a second attempt (assisted by Moses, I believe). #5 was also the first or second guy off the Baiyi bench at the very beginning of the video. "No Kevin Broadus, we shouldn't recruit him."

at least someone had the wisdom to print this:
Nonetheless, the AP notes, the fight has “marred the orchestrated harmony” of his visit to China.
Really? You think so? Idiot.

For some reason Chinese teams are known for their dirty play and fighting in soccer as well. In the Hoyas video you can even here a Chinese woman giggling as if this is a common occurrence.
China vs Japan (Kung Fu Fighting):
China vs Korea
Fan attacks Soccer Team:
China vs Iran
China vs North Korea
Chinese Player chasing and attacking down referee
China vs Brazil (Basketball)
