Nice calls on Baylor and USC (boo), Austin. You have to admit one thing about these Big 12 games - they sure are entertaining. When Oklahoma scored with 55 seconds left, my first thought was, there's too much time remaining. So things go when nobody plays defense.

Way to spank that Yalie bottom! Again! You think with the fact that someone died that you'd be more restrained. Um, OK.

Rich Rod to Pac 12. Good fit or not? If Rodriguez tries to run that same crappy defense he has done at WVU/Michigan--the Cats will be looking for another coach in 3 years. If he actually hires a good defensive staff, he can improve upon Stoops otherwise it's same old stuff in Tuscon.
Austin, are rumors of Mack Brown stepping down at end of year true? If so, call Saban up--he's around time he gets antsy and wants to leave the program he's at. Saban at UT would dominate the Big XII and the physical nature of his teams would change the way the other teams play. Or they'd just get beatdown like a doormat. Either way--it's good for you/Horns. Strength and Conditioning would improve to a point that you guys would get your money's worth for those beautiful facilities.
When will Chris "Dick Jauron tooth" Peterson leave Boise? I'm saying he bolts this year. Where? UCLA? ASU--where Denny the drunk should be fired, or somewhere else?

the 3-3-5 he had casteel run at wvu was actually a decent defense...especially compared to the clusterEdited he turned the michigan defense into. rodriguez is a glorified offensive coordinator. he was an innovator of the spread years ago when it was still a bit of a novelty but now that almost everyone runs a version of it and defenses are geared to stop it he's just another guy that runs the spread. his success at arizona will depend on his staff. he had a decent defensive coordinator (shafer) at michigan in 2008 but he tried to force the 3-3-5 on a coach that didn't run that defense. then, he ditched shafer for robinson and did the same thing to him.
that is the biggest difference between rodriguez and hoke. hoke came in and adjusted his sytem to the players. hoke also knows what parts of the team he should be hands on and which parts he should leave to his coaches.

Great point on Hoke--and what all successful coaches do--adjust to what they have and not force their system on players who don't fit.

Varsity's horns remain intact. The Texas offense is horrendous, but defense and special teams bailed The University of Texas out tonight.
For all the blustering about the loss of a great rivalry, this one has lost steam. Giving the Aggies a few years to stew over tonight's implosion might give it some new life.
Forgot to add: screw ESPN for letting Craig James anywhere near this game, even if the action on the grid at times matched the level of his color commentary.

Over/under on the number of mentions from the Worldwide Leader that rivalry was ending: About 150.
Over/under on the mentions from the Worldwide Leader that the decision was a unilateral one by its very own partner in the reviled Longhorn Network? Not once.
If ESPN says the sky is blue, check your sources.

Yeah, let's not talk about the football game, let's just slander Texas.

Slandering UTexas is like shooting fish in a barrel, thanks to the genius of DeLoss Dodds and his friends in Bristol.

I could make a similar comment about the Aggies' record at Kyle Field this season, thanks to the genius of Mike Sherman.
Stick with your rumors and half-truths. I plan to stick to facts delivered on the football field tonight. I'm off to sleep, but probably not before Ryan Tannehill throws another interception.

When last we checked, Maryland was leading NC State 41-14 with 6 minutes to go in the third quarter. Final: NC State 56, Maryland 41, Randy Edsall's seventh straight loss. (Plenty of good seats for 2012 now available.) rivals.yahoo.com/ncaa/football/recap?gid=201111260007

All he has to do is hire Randy Shannon as DC and they'll be even worse next year. ;D

looks like urban cryer to o$u is all but done. great hire by o$u. fire the guy that cheated for his entire career and bring in a guy that had as many wins as player arrests while at florida. ;D--don't forget his "tummy aches" that were played out as if they were life altering, and his "need to be with family and watch his kids play/grow up", which lasted all of less then a calendar year. Why the need to lie about leaving UF and going to OSU? It's obvious this was (Meyer taking a job this year) was going to happen last year when he "retired". So why give a bunch of BS excuses? Just say--I'm resigning from UF. He wanted to leave when Tebow left but they talked him out of it for recruiting reasons. Just going to add some extra juice to Michigan-"Ohio" game. I love Brady Hoke's digs at Buckeyes. ;D BTW--USC looks like USC when Kiffin and Orgeron were there as assistants under Pete Carroll. It's scary how good of talent evaluators these guys are--and Kiffin is one of the best play callers in football. As good as Matt Barkley looks--it's the system and whomever takes over at QB should he leave, will be a star as well. UCLA-- Bad enough that Neuheisel was seen as a good coach (ask CU and UW fans about him) and recruiter (guy is a horrible evaluator of talent, and can't develop the good players he does get) but to say "we've closed the gap on USC", "they aren't what they used to be...", and my favorite "USC isn't much different then Colorado", and then claim to be a "champion" when they only advanced due to NCAA's laughable sanctions that didn't fit a crime which robbed USC and PAC 12 of great Conference Title game in Euguene on Friday Night, just end this misery now. And for the love of all things Terry Donahue, do NOT think of hiring Herm Edwards. He's a complete moron. He'd be worse then Neuheisel. Get a real coach.

Herm Edwards? Please, don't make me give back my breakfast. I get it, though - let's see, USC hired a former Jets coach, and he was a huge success, so I'm sure we'll have the same result if we also hire a former Jets coach. Yep, that's the ticket.
