ESPN said today that "there could be mounting evidence of a potential systematic problem at Ohio State."
Great BB teams last couple of seasons, could this also extend to the Hoop team?

Maybe they'll vacate Ohio State's win over Hoyas in Final Four.

Take a look at most "dirty" schools Sky and what happens in major sports often crosses over. Be it USC (Bush and Mayo), UNC--that is the one I laugh at most--NOBODY is talking about their situation and it's 100 times worse then what was going on at USC or Ohio State. A coach employed by University was funneling kids to agents, and blatantly cheating (also had rep as a cheater prior to getting caught), Butch Davis "nanny" is doing homework/cheating for the players school work but if it gets too much attention, then the basketball program might get checked into and lord knows we can't have that happen. Look at Kansas--their FB program/basketball program and ticket scandal--of course this started under watch of Lew Perkins the AD who resigned and was also man who hired/allowed Calhoun to do business his way at UConn.
Look at 1980's--SMU FB was filthy--but they also employed Dave Bliss as their BB coach and he's proven his track record is less then clean, OU Football (Barry Switzer and Billy Tubbs), and that tradition carried to current state (Kelvin Sampson and Bob Stoops--who people seem to blame Rhett Bomar and JD Quinn for being only 2 guys to get paid by Booster at Car Dealership, sure I buy that those 2 were ONLY guys to do that), it's a joke.
You want to dig deep enough--you'll find what you expect. Just funny how some don't even hide their cheating (Duke basketball witht he Duhon/Boozer family job upgrades and dealing with Myron Piggie), Oregon football right now with Phil Knight promising prospects clothing marketing deals after they graduate (DeAnthony Thomas) and using agents to send them players, or Notre Dame having a coach who sent a kid to his death and it's covered up by everyone. If you want things to go away--they do. If you want to find dirt on someone--you will.

I still think that Ohio State's problems are worse than Kansas' or UNC's. Ohio State's problems were endemic - it seemed that the AD was aware of the vioaltions, and ignored it even when it was blatant. The president seemed to have no desire to discipline anyone. Kansas and UNC at least fired people and did it quickly.
The difference is the blatant part. At least Duke has the good sense to have plausible deniability and never enough to make a story. OSU didn't have that, and they didn't care. They refused to take any corrective action. It's a serious thumbing of the nose at the NCAA.
I still think that Ohio State defines "lack of institutional control" and that the NCAA should come down with a hammer. They won't.

I agree exorcist. Either Gee did know about everything, and is therefore to blame or he was obvlivious and naive, but SHOULD have known, in which case he was entirely inept. Either way, it must fall on him largely.
