I tend to agree with HoyaChris...with a couple of exceptions. Note sure I would say Austin is "clearly behind" Wingate...in my mind they are within a few spots of eachother...i think its debatable. Austin Freeman on that team probably does very well. Certainly not the defender Wingate was though. I'd also put Austin well ahead of Mark Tillmon. While Austin was clearly a better scorer than David Wingate, Wingate's defense was good enough to sustain a 15 year NBA career and he scored enough off of his defense to score more total points than Austin. I actually think the Mark Tillmon comparison is among the closest matches with Austin. Mark actually outscored Austin in his Freshman, Sophomore and Senior seasons. In fact, Mark's senior season is Austin's senior season without Austin's season-ending slump. Both were Big East first team and honorable mention All American. Mark's career numbers are pulled down by a junior year in which he played hurt for the whole season. And Tillmon was a far better defender.

Oh, and I agree Wingate is ahead of Austin, and Jeff is ahead of Sweetney -- though not by much. But all 4 of those guys were great Hoyas.
And -- Awesome Freeman - congratulations! Thanks for 4 years of great basketball.

Having seen all of HoyaChris' top 15 in person I pretty much agree with his ranking. Boring, but true. Tillmon is a pretty fair comparison and Wingate's D vaults him significantly ahead of Austin.

Congrats to Austin! The comeback against UConn in his junior year and this year's performance versus Villanova were two of the great Hoya performances I've seen in my 27 years as a Hoya fan. Agree on both.

Austin has a much better shot than Wingate could even dream about. But David was significantly better at... well... everything else!

A wonderful accomplishment by Austin. Right now I don't care where he ranks, just that he gets his chance to play for a living and that he continues to control his health.

Freeman showed quite well finished with 21 pts leading all scorers according to the announcers. His team lost 113-108. East was winning when his squad of almost all BE players was in. But the other squad for the east blew the 13pt lead austin and his squad had built.
