He's not an idiot. Far smarter than me and has forgot more basketball than I'll ever know. Simply don't agree with spending his time on certain kids. This is one of them.

Hopkins got the "soft" label a lot in high school (and the dreaded "passive" too and even "disinterested" if I remember correctly). Seems like early reports from the China trip indicate that said label may not have been completely accurate...at least we can hope. Not saying Jankovic will be good, but things like "soft" can have a snowball effect and be based on incomplete information (he was Editeded at the coach. He was playing sick, etc.) that may or may not be predictive of success in college. Mikael's issue was that he didn't play with a consistent motor in high school. Sometimes he looked like a five-star player and others, you literally forgot he was on the floor. Not saying that he wasn't accused of being soft or passive, but I think people who watched him play a lot - like myself - were concerned that we were getting another kid that wasn't soft per se but didn't play with a consistent effort on both ends of the floor and for a kid with his talent, it's incredibly frustrating. When he was locked in, he wasn't soft or passive. Jankovic is soft. It's just the way he plays.

Trawick is the leader of the FR class by a large margin, and that is the core of the team that will decide it's fate. He's got leadership ability-which isn't assigned by tenure-it's by personality. Only thing worse then no leadership is phony leadership--when someone tries to be something he's not and Hank Sims and Jason Clark couldn't lead a drunk to a Free Happy Hour. With fans like this, who needs Syracuse. RDF jumped the shark in 2005.

A lot of folks wondered why we were recruiting the kid from Baylor.. Hmmm, I'd rather trust the staff!

I was wrong about Jason Clark's leadership abilities. Wasn't first time/wont be last and I'm GLAD to admit I was wrong. These guys stepped up their play this year. I was also wrong about Trawick--and admitted that. I commend Henry for improving his play-but that guy isn't a leader at all. He's a lesson/example of a guy not giving up and for that he should be singled out-but leader? No F-ing way.
Only thing I'd say is, there are several posts to make someone look bad. There are several to make them look good. I'm more then confident in my track record and as I'll always say--I admit when I am wrong. That was significantly wrong and I am happy that I was proven wrong and happy for the players.
Still stand by basic premise though-leadership doesn't have seniority attached to it (which was basis of discussion that wasn't added to the point that Madge wanted to make me look bad)--you don't give leadership to SR's--you give it to leaders.
One other thing--Madge, I've got no problem with you hunting for reasons to take shots at me, hating me, etc, but please--the "Jump the Shark" reference is beyond outdated. I think you're approaching double digits for the times you've used that. I respect T-God's response more--at least he put some effort into getting his point across with some creativing spelling. That's true hatred/dislike and I can do nothing but respect that. My type of person. Nothing like mixing it up-but creativity is always appreciated. ;D

What would he add to Georgetown? He can't handle the ball, struggles to get his shot off the minute you crowd him, and has been just as responsible as anyone for their fade late in year.
