As a cancer survivor myself, I truly empathize. Here's hoping for the best. Ditto. I know that prayers help you get through these situations. Elvado, what is your son's name? I will offer up his intentions at Mass tomorrow. He is now on my prayer list.

You and your son will be in my prayers, Elvado. I am glad to hear he is at a hospital where he will receive the best medical treatment.

My prayers are offered up to Elvado and his son and family. I hate hearing news like this but keeping a positive attitude and perspective is important for all involved. Hopefully, the Hoyas and HoyaChat can provide a positive diversion for you and your family over the next few months. Chin up, and I know CHOP is the best of the best in this area.

A quick story about the power of prayer and of faith that seems appropriate here. About 15 years ago the husband of my officemate had a condition that the doctors were calling leukemia, but they had to do a final bone marrow test to tell what kind of this cancer. I was praying for him. He was an atheist, and my officemate was a neopagan at the time. During my prayers I got an urge (I don't know what else to call it) to lay hands and prayer over him. If you knew me, you would know that I am not a laying hands person, so it was hard for me to tell this to my officemate. I went ahead and did anyway. She told her husband, and lo and behold he agreed. That was all it took, because he went to have the test done before I could pray over him. It turned out he did not have cancer at all. BTW, his wife is now a Catholic, partly because of this incident.
Prayers are not always answered this way, but we pray for your son for healing and the family to be strong.

This puts it all in perspective. As a dad of a young son with another on the way, I will keep both of you and your family in my thoughts.

Elvado, you and your family are in my thoughts. I'm not much of a prayer but I'll do my best. Count me among your large Hoya family here that is hoping for a speedy recovery.

Thank you all. Little Harry will, through the grace of God, the power of love, and the genius of his doctors beat this because there is no other acceptable alternative.
Kiss your kids as often as you can.

Also, if there's anything any of us can do in addition to sending love and prayers, please let us know. Stay strong and stay positive. Best wishes and prayers to Harry and your family.
