Speaker Boehner made two remarkably mature and important statements over the last 24 Hrs or so.
1. He said President Obama was handling the Egypt situation very well.
2. He also said the Republicans would NOT cause the country to default on our obligations when the debt ceiling comes up for review in the next couple of months.
The first is absolutely the right thing to do in a time of crisis, rather than trying to make more political points.
The second is CRUCIAL to the US and Global economy - for Republicans, for Democrats for everyone. This is perfectly obvious, but not everyone was on board. The Speaker decided to be the adult and step up to say the right thing. I believe McConnell echoed his sentiments. Good for them.

McConnell did not echo the first statement. He merely said he did not have any criticism right now. Like he has for the last few years, he'll be the first to turn on Obama if things go poorly.
It is good to see some of these comments, but they are made on the backdrop of their revisionist notion of compromise.
