DC is our playground. Love that we are going after the local talent.

Britt and Jenkins sound intriguing. Curious as to what other young locals have caught HoyaTalkers' eye.

Jenkins has to grow a lot for me to want him as a Hoya--he's a 6'5 PF right now---built more for CFB then basketball.

A Britt and Lyles backcourt would be a nice coup for '13

According to Scout article today, Britt has visited Georgetown, Duke, Virginia and Seton Hall. Pretty much the entire East Coast is recruiting him, plus schools like Arizona, Texas and Baylor. Hoyas have offered.

I don't normally weigh in on the recruiting board, but I've seen Nate Britt play (I've also seen other fantastic high-school players play before, primarily at Gonzaga's Christmas Classic and the Slam Dunk at the Beach event held around the new year. He looks fantastic (not as good as Christ Paul in high school, but better than most everyone else); he'd be a great get for the program.

On national Scout forum, Evan Daniels suggests Duke and Georgetown are the leaders at this point.

Tyler Thornton hasn't played in 2 games this year and is averaging 7.7 mpg. I expect his DNPs to continue to go up as the season wears on. Josh Hairston is averaging 9.5 mpg and has only played in 10 games. Just sayin...

writing is on the wall if Britt develops into a player that Duke covets.
Nolan -> Quinn -> Nate.

Looked like Britt was sitting behind the bench during tonight's game.

I found out Britt is 2 years older then his high school class. He is a 17 year old Sophmore.

I also think his team mate Jenkins is in the same boat. He is much older then his high school class.

He was at Hoya game prior to his game yesterday too--at least it sure looked like him behind the bench. Interesting that Britt runs Princeton offense at Gonzaga too. Never knew that Gonzaga used the Hoyas offense.

Interesting article about Nate and two other sophs at Gonzaga from Washington Post last week; notes the offer already from Georgetown (and others) and also that he repeated a grade in middle school at suggestion of Markel Starks (maybe a little recruiting edge there for the Hoyas -- Markel was also at the Dematha/Gonzaga WCAC final last night, just FYI, but obviously many reasons for everybody in DC area to be at that). www.washingtonpost.com/wp-dyn/content/article/2011/02/23/AR2011022306016.html

Britt kept Gonzaga in game and almost brought them back. Jenkins was out with bad ankle--tried to play but limited. Fenner had strong game as was mentioned above. Britt outplayed Robinson head to head all of the matchups and word was when Gonzaga pressured DeMatha guards--they struggled to bring ball up the court and once again DeMatha guards got away from going inside to bigs and starting to firing-which let Gonzaga get back into the game and have shot to tie game with 2 3pt attempts in last 8 seconds. DeMatha bigs/Grant controlled game early and then Stags went away from them (again) and once game became about perimeter play--Gonzaga outplayed them.
