Only two words for Chris: THANK YOU. Great, great game tonight. When that one wrecking-ball, falling-down, spinning layup in the second half went in, I knew the Hoyas were fated to win this game. Way to WILL the team to victory tonight! Agreed. I still don't believe that one.

Chris' postgame comments were the best--talked about knowing what to do based on how the game is going--and that is major growth in his game----he saw that he needed to score/control the game but in aggressive manner tonight--just as he knew to defer on Saturday--when a player is unselfish--it's as much of being a leader/great performance as it is when he scored 24 tonight. Kudos to Chris to say this--recognize this--and it goes noticed by the people who evaluate/know the game. Who cares if fans/kids at school sweat you not scoring (he stated he was catching crap for not scoring against Nova)--the only stat you are evaluated at as a PG that matters--WINNING!
Great game!

He just seemed so positive after the villanova game (despite not having any points, but making his assists count and playing some quality D), that I , too, expected him to come up big tonight. from the opening tip he just seemed comfortable in this game, and it never felt out of control to me. a few possesions (as others have said) seemed a little fast, but chris was there to calm them all down, literally put out his hand to slow down the offense, and take their time. uhhhhmazing night overall, let's take care of business on saturday against p'dence.

What does Chris have to do to get a gd block call? I mean, the first one was questionable, the second one was downright criminal. At what point can you draw a charge when you are moving your feet and not squared up to the dribbler? I feel like Chris has a rep now for getting charges, and refs are going to call it no matter what.

FL, I know you and I had our disagreements the last 2 home games about what is a charge and what isn't. But I watched the game again just now. JB's is the only one out of the 3 that was even remotely close to a charge. Telecast (mainly Bilas) also agreed the calls sucked.

On the Chris "charge" at the top of the key, Bilas just kept repeating "Not even close. Not even close. Not even close..." over and over and over.

Did Chris' spinning layup in the lane remind anyone else of Charles Smith's uncanny way to get his shots off and score?

I sincerely hope Chris Wright wins the Casual Hoya Chris Wright Heart of Lion award for last night's game. MEN.
Easily my favorite GU player since Kevin Braswell (and for those of you that haven't been around for 10 years, I had an unhealthy man crush on Kevin B, who gave effort when no one else was).

He may be reckless, but that boy is our last hope.
Wait, did Markel's spinner over three defenders in the lane remind anyone of CW??
To quote a wise man, THERE IS ANOTHER!!!

Chris' most valuable asset to this team (and also his biggest detriment at times) is his recognition of what he needs to do based on what's going on in the game he's playing. The detriment part comes when he tries too hard. I don't want to rehash any of the talk about the heart or level of caring of this team but I hope he wasn't the target of any of it. The kid gives it everything he's got trying to do what's needed and he did it again yesterday with GREAT success. I'd be really interested to find out how often a point guard in CBB has gone for -0 points in one game and 20+ the next and have his team win both games. Great job Chris! Awesome performance!

Chris is the best point guard this school has had since Iverson, and if Iverson's not a pure point, and he isn't, then he's the best point guard this school's had since Charles Smith/Michael Jackson.
He's a great player who's had to sacrifice a lot of offense for the good of the program. And he's done it. He's made mistakes, but he's become cerebral and a scorer at the same time, something Kevin Braswell could never come close to doing.
I think Chris is great for us, this program and in many ways he's what g'town basketball is all about. And don't think being around Chris for a year won't make Markel into a better player. We'll see that next year for sure.

I forgot to throw Dwayne Bryant in there....he was a hell of a point guard, and his many contributions were overlooked on that 1989 team that featured Mourning, Tillman, Bobby Winston.....glory days...so many great players on that team

Dwayne was also a hell of a judge on Tuesday nights at Winston's (old name of bar at 33rd & M) Bikini Contest.

Holy crap! Winston's! Cobwebs are clearing..... Not that this is the appropriate place but could be fun anyway, where is the first Georgetown bar you had your first drink at as an undergrad? For me, it was the Cross (Charing Cross.... don't know if it's still there) on M. My freshman roommate made me drink a Rusty Nail. Still hate the drink but still love the roommate!

EDIT: Georgetown bars change names as Sweaty Williams changes shirts.
