"On a side note, the Big East will not be pleased that Seton Hall’s AD position is going to remain vacant for an entire school year. The league already has been casting a critical eye toward the school for the Bobby Gonzalez debacle and its questionable financial commitment to athletics."
From Jerry Carino's NJ hoops haven blog on Sept. 24th concerning the resignation of Seton Hall's AD.

From Jerry Carino's NJ hoops haven blog on Sept. 24th concerning the resignation of Seton Hall's AD. Georgetown's AD position was vacant for a year and its financial commitment in the Big East isn't well received in some quarters of the league office, either. Casting a critical eye at Seton Hall? Probably not. DePaul? That's probably another topic.

How can our financial commitment in the BE be questioned. We commit more to baksetball than any other school in the big east besides Marquette. I believe we are now up to the minimum scholarship levels in all our non revenue sports. I can see in the past being questioned, but not anymore.
I can get looking at seton hall. Very few sports and they don't compete in any of them. Their market is already covered by rutgers. Depaul at least has the chicago market going for them and are competitive in some of the non revenue sports.
