Feel like I am dealing with the airlines, the add on fees, $15 processing fee plus another $3 fee

Feel like I am dealing with the airlines, the add on fees, $15 processing fee plus another $3 fee I agree. The $15 shipping and handling fee has been standard for a while, but the $3 fee that shows up without warning after you have submitted your credit card is both aggravating and just plain wrong.

The $3 fee has been there in the past, however it's only for online transactions via Ticketmaster. You alternatively had the option of faxing your credit card # with the invoice to the Verizon Box Office, which didn't incur any other processing fees.
While we are used to overhead costs being built into the "price" of things we buy, I don't entirely disagree with it as a line item.
I paid $3 to make my deposit in June, and another $3 to pay the balance yesterday -- if they would have let us know the full invoice price in the summer we might have had the option of paying in full and then maybe one of those transaction fees could have been avoided.
What I should have done is just called Georgetown Athletics and paid the balance over the phone, I bet that wouldn't have gotten the $3 ticketmaster processing fee attached.

4aks, you are correct, in the past, I paid everything over the phone because I was always upgrading my seats and the fees didn't appear.
I guess we can look at as a convenience charge to use Ticketmaster, we did pick up the ability to email tickets to our friends last year through this portal.

LIC, they mail you pretty tickets, no matter how you pay for your season tickets. The online tciket feature is to transfer tcikets to someone or to print lost tcikets. When you print tickets on line, it invaliudates your hard tickets bar code.

The email they sent said: "Invoices for this ticket balance are also being sent to you this week by mail." I'm assuming that the extra fees won't be present if you pay the invoice via check...
or am I mistaken?
The $15 fee remains on the mailed invoice.--Admin

So the consensus is to just call the Athletic Department and pay over the phone to avoid the $3 fee? And there is no way to avoid the $15 "shipping and handling" fee?
Seems a little bit silly to have to pay more to not waste an AD worker's time.

Am I correct that if you put down your deposit to retain your seats via credit card, Athletic Department/Verizon will automatically bill the rest of the amount to that same credit card w/o any further action from you? I tend to recall that this occurred in the past. (My mail from US to the Sinai has been spotty at best).
Thanks if anyone can confirm.
MOD NOTE: I contacted the ticket office, who said this is not true. They will not charge an account holder's card for the balance without instruction from the account holder.

I have always called the office to pay the balance, and while it's simple for them to charge the card I used for the deposit (making it a quick phone call), it doesn't seem to be something they would do automatically without the call.

THB,
Thanks. I will check to see whether I can pay the balance on-line or phone in. I don't have any confidence that an invoice for the balance will reach me here.

Bravo Zulu to Steve Alleva, Director of Ticket Operations. I e-mailed him about my situation and he indicated that my season tix were automatically paid in full via the credit card I had used for my deposit. He responded with 24 hours of my inquiry. He is a great asset to the Athletic Dept. Thanks Steve!!
