Still quite get over that he committed to us. After 35 pages of build up...he commits to g'town over Kansas....someone pinch me and tell me I'm not dreaming. Great get for the hoyas!!! Suddenly we have a stud playing for the west in the Jordan brand classic....love it!

I don't see Clark coming off the bench either....especially to start the season. My list was more on what I would like to see, assuming everyone I listed is playing at a level to be a starter which requires a LOT of "high hopes". I think Starks and Lubick were realistic though!!

I don't think JT3 is as stubborn about upper classmen starting as many think. I remember his first year at Georgetown, he started 3 freshmen(Green, Hibbert and Wallace). He also had Summers, Freeman and Monroe start as freshmen. The rigid reliance on upperclassmen is a result of lack of talent in certain areas. Now he has legitimate top talent two deep at each position except PG. I would not be surprised if we saw a lot of Nate/Moses playing center with Otto and Whittington shifting back and forth between big forward and small forward depending on when Hollis needed a break or shifted to the 2G position.

I'm sure everyone would agree that the best case scenario is Clark returning to form and staying in the starting line up. We need his leadership in the backcourt and we need his scoring. A sapp- like senior season for Clark would result in a tough year for the hoyas.
In order of importance I'd say for us to exceed expectations and be competitive in the BE...the following needs to happen. 1. Hollis takes the next step and becomes our " go to" guy. 2. Clark returns to form, improves his ball handling and continues to drive to the hole. 3. Markel assumes the reigns and becomes a threat on offense. 4. Otto looks comfortable in the offense and essentially becomes the new Hollis averaging 8 and 5. 5. Lubick develops a back to the basket post move.

GREAT NEWS. you can't have enough athletic players able to play multiple positions. i still wish we secured a true pg in this class but you can't argue with the class the staff hauled in this year.

Funny how even the most well respected posters all have Clark coming off the bench....I just don't see it. Your definitiion of "the most well respected posters" is very different than mine. Anyone who has a guy who has started the last two years coming off of the bench doesn't qualify for that in my book.

any idea on gtown frred up this 1 scholly? Clearly, someone -- other than a current senior -- will not be returning next year. Board rules prevent us from speculating further.

My ideal lineup would be Vee, Trawick, Whittington, Hopkins, and Moses. It would basically mean our most uncertain players at each position have improved enough to be starters.
In reality, I think we're likely to see a plain old Markel, Jason, Hollis, Nate, Henry lineup. I think Porter will be the first big off the bench, but Vee will be the first guy off the bench. I see one of Trawick and Aaron getting the majority of the PT, Hopkins and Whittington duking it out for the 2nd forward off the bench (assuming that if Whittington wins out, Porter would slide to the 4), and one of Moses and Adams getting the majority of time at the backup 5. I'm not sure who wins out on those matchups, and I wouldn't be surprised if it's a game by game thing.
We can put a fierce zone out there. The backline of the zone will go 6'7, 6'8, 6'11 from the tipoff, and 6'8/6'8, 6'9, 6'9/6'9 off the bench. Plus, if Hollis gets flexed to the 2, then you could conceivably see a lineup with Vee out there that is 6'2, 6'7, 6'8, 6'8, 6'11.

757, Cheps first lineup was filled with the guys he thinks will need the most work next year. Sooooo if they start, that means that they made such a huge improvement that they earned that spot.
If you read his second PP, he thinks jason will start over vee, but that with Vee on the floor (bound to happen at some point) we will have a PG that is 6'2".
Frazier, Chep also starts Hollis in reality.

Even w/that being said, I just highly doubt we are going to see an even better V/decline in Jason's game to justify Vee taking his spot.. 757, Cheps first lineup was filled with the guys he thinks will need the most work next year. Was in-studio at ESPNU during their Signing Day Special. You could tell he was very nervous, but seems like a well-mannered and polite young man. Didn't say anything new, he liked the system, thinks he can make it in D.C. since he's coming from such a small town.
Closed out by saying he's going to come prepared next season and help the Hoyas win a national championship.

I like Vee; but starting him over JC? Why? Because the team lost a first-round tournament game which caused a complete loss of perspective. My starting lineup : Clark, Hollis, Porter, Nate, and whichever of Henry or Moses is better at tipoffs. Starks, Whittington, the other C (Ayegba/Sims), and Adams see time off the bench with Trawick, Bowen, Benimon, Sanford, and Hopkins used sparingly.

Starks, Clark, Hollis, Nate, Sims is our most likely opening day lineup. Will probably change if the frosh step up.
And TC, disagree with you on one point - I don't see both Trawick and Sanford both being used sparingly. Given lack of depth at guard, at least one of these guys will see quality minutes off the bench.

Not to be too critical TC but our womens team might just press that grouping off the court.Porter may have the best handle of them all. This talk of Hollis playing a lot a the 2 is just as crazy heck he was 4th option to get the ball under any kind of serious press all year. I've consistently criticized JCs game for well over a year but you either start him at the 2 and see if he can find his shot and can provide an improvemnt on D. Contrary to what mnay here projected i think the one that will be realy pressed for playing time will be nate. If he returns next year without an outside shot and fails to add little more strength and quickness he may not get the kind of minutes henry got this year.

No way Nate plays less than Henry's minutes this year. From what we've seen from JT3, he will use Nate more than this year. I agree with the poster who said that if Henry does not improve, Nate could be used as C with a line-up of the taller players at the 2, 3 and 4. But, just my opinion... I'm hoping Moses or Tyler are ready by mid-season and we do not have to mentionNate at C. BTW, why not have the women come in an practice bringing up the ball against the press? ![;)](//storage.proboards.com/forum/images/smiley/wink.png)
