Makes the earlier discussion of HS' alter ego of RegularMan look a little tame. bit.ly/9Jb9H3Last sentence on GTech is very interesting.

I'm pretty sure people in the AD are reading all the players tweets and monitoring them and are instructing the players on what is and is not appropriate to tweet.

I'm pretty sure Sims' tweet of "damn no snacks in the vending machine" from 4:30 this morning is probably ok under whatever policy GU has.

That might depend on whether Henry was just starting his day or just ending his day.

If he doesn't improve his game, he'll be filling those vending machines soon enough.

If I were to guess, I'd imagine JTIII's policy is something along the lines of "If I find out you tweeted anything you shouldnta', I'm going to run you 'til you hurl. And then I'm gonna' run you some more."

I wonder how strict that maryland policy is about not posting after 11pm I see Adrian bowie and Dino Greggory have been posting after 11pm. Can we report them? ;D

With all apologies to Kevin Smith, I imagine the exchange in McD goes like this:
III: Hey, do you think you could put together a social media policy for me? Our guys are all over twitter, blogs, facebook and all sorts of internet sites.
Sports Information: What the f* is the internet?

With follow-up from Pops: "This Internet thing is bulledited."

Sports Information: What the f* is the internet? And how do we turn it off?
Fixed it for you.

Maybe HS could use foursquare to figure out where he should be on defense.

Snarky gratuitous slaps at the Sports Information staff aside, there is a social media policy for student athletes. Sports Information staff do monitor facebook, tweets, etc. That said, Coach Thompson (and other sports' coaches) give the kids a certain level of trust.

I asked about this when JTIII was in Chicago this summer. He said he hates that the players are on Twitter but isn't going to stop them from doing it - something to the effect of, they're kids and we need to let them be kids.
JTIII has a staff member monitoring twitter, Facebook, and message boards (he relayed a story of a message board upsetting the mother of a player from his Princeton days).
