When will the media begin to hold people like Al Gore responsible for their environmental fearmongering that inspires violent extremism?
When will our Democratic leaders in Congress denounce the lies, distortions and exaggerations in a movie like "An Inconvenient Truth," that incite people to assault the Discovery Channel?
When will Janet Napolitano issue a report advising police and sheriff's departments about the dangers brewing in the extreme left?
When, Lord, when?

In all seriousness, I don't know anyone there now, but I have known plenty of people who have worked at Discovery, and am very glad that none of the hostages was injured in this event today.
It is unfortunate that the police had to fatally shoot the suspect, but they did what they had to do. I hope that bat-$#!T crazy nutbar finds some peace in the next life. He clearly did not receive any in this.

I don't think Gore and his fellow environmentalists saw humans as "filth" and were against human birth. But I may be wrong on that. [/end snark]
I have to agree with your serious point. The police deserve credit for doing everything they could to end the situation peacefully, and when that wasn't possible, taking effective action to ensure that the hostages were not harmed.

Pretty sure Al Gore isn't seething with rage over anchor babies and illegal immigration either.
But honestly, I think the man had a point about Jon and Kate Plus 8 - that show was awful and the Gosselins are pretty awful people.

If his entire agenda were the elimination of Jon and Kate—as well as every other pregnancy/look-at-us-'cuz-we-have-a-million-kids television show—then I would totally be on board, though I'd still find his tactics a bit extreme.
Couldn't he have just taken Kate hostage. Would anyone have tried to stop that?

Maybe Us Weekly, but no one else I can think of.
Deadliest Catch and The Colony are pretty sweet shows, I feel like Discovery Channel is being unfairly targeted here for crappy shows they put on three years ago.

Personally, I was hoping that Bear Grylls would take him down with an improvised harpoon made out of staples and rubber bands. Either that, or the Mythbusters would defeat him with an elaborate Rube Goldberg device. If he had survived, he should've been sentenced to work the next opilio crab season on the deck of the Time Bandit. See how much you like nature then, buddy! But seriously, Discovery doesn't care enough about the environment? That's like saying that Richard Machowicz doesn't appreciate firepower. (I watch far too much Discovery programming) EDIT: I know the liberals on this board might not like him very much because, well he's a conservative, but I continue to believe Jim Treacher to be one of the funniest "people" on the Internet. He definitely had the headline of the day: Gun-wielding ecoterrorist calls for reduction in human population, gets wish{PS - Clicking link leads to awesome music video ;D )

HA! Fair enough. I should have been more specific. I meant headline of the day with respect to the Discovery incident.
