UConn decommit - 6'6", 180. #86 on Rivals, #81 on ESPN and #106 on Scout. maryland.rivals.com/content.asp?CID=1102347On the recruiting front, there's more than a handful of front-runners, according to Blue.
"Right now it's Miami, Maryland, St. John's, Georgetown, Arizona, Cincinnati, Rutgers, Florida State, Xavier. It's a crazy list. We'll start figuring out what we're going to do in September as far as visits.

According to ZagsBlog interview with Harkless's mentor, Nate Blue:
"Blue said via text the following schools were in play for Harkless: Arizona, Memphis, St. John’s, Georgetown, Miami, South Florida, Rutgers, Xavier, Virginia, Maryland, Syracuse, Temple, Pitt, Providence, UConn and Cincinnati. All have offered except Syracuse and Georgetown."

From Scout article (Evan Daniels) at Desert Duel:
"Maurice Harkless said Florida, Seton Hall, Rutgers, Memphis, Maryland, Kansas, St. John’s, Arizona, Louisville, Fordham, West Virginia and Cincinnati are all in the mix. He said he would like to start taking visits next month."

Georgetown should steer clear of this kid--Nate Blue being the reason.

In ZagsBlog interview, Nate Blue says Harkless will take unofficial visits to UCONN, Maryland, St. John's and Georgetown. Take a look at what "advisor" Nate Blue said above--and then look at the final 8 schools on the list. What kind of clown is this guy? I mean STH up if you don't know anything and it's just further proof of what clowns/goons/pimps get involved in the "process" of recruiting. So 2 of those "unofficial visits" don't even make the final 8--so that was some really worthy info Nate. Thanks for sharing--you overinflated, egotistical moron.

Seems like a perfect recruit for Lavin at St. John's - can offer instant playing time and gets Lavin in the door with some of the local "insiders" involved in high school recruiting.
I am surprised not to see UCONN on his list of 8.

Didn't UConn basically tell him they didn't want him?

Think simplistic--UConn has NCAA on their ass, Harkless has a pimp in Nate Blue--you can't be in bed with recruits like this/pimps like this when NCAA is sniffing around--the "deal" worked out with Pimp had to be altered with NCAA on their ass--so Pimp took his "worker" and shopped him around to highest bidder--which Lavin who is going to have SJU on Probation within 4 years or violating NCAA rules within that time frame is more then willing to do-to get them to win again.

Told you look out for the Johnnies. St. John's will recruit well-Lavin always does--and then they'll be in trouble with NCAA--because that also is what Lavin does. In addition--they have 9-10 scholarships to hand out--and Rutgers has a lot too--and you know how kids love "playing time"--but then some of them will leave too--because not all 9-/10 or 8 in Rutgers case will be playing and then guys get ticked/split. I don't mind SJU-so I hope they do well but Lavin already had an incident on internet site where he was quoted talking about current HS players--and the moron on Rivals (Maurice Wingate) quoted him and then pulled it down--but it was up long enough for several people to see--which means I'm sure some coaches got word/read it--not a good start and a blatant NCAA violation isn't how the "Lav" wants to symbolize his return. I applaud the Staff Lavin hired though--Mike Dunlap was a great hire.
