You can't make this stuff up. First the Russians says she's not a spy then they make a trade to get her back. Is the KGB running free agency like the NBA? Is she the mistress of some Russian Government big shot? Was she dating Jason Bourne? EXCERPT An advocate for an imprisoned Russian scientist said on Thursday that he had been released in return for the Russian suspect Anna Chapman.

There always seems to be a lot that's understood but never actually said in these spy games.
You wonder how much of this is tails trying to wag the dog. The one guy's lawyer has been saying this was a done deal from the start, even though there's been no official statement. Then the Russians apparently move him to Vienna, despite apparently still not having a deal. Meanwhile, the US is going ahead with charging the "spies" here in the US. I think there's a lot of maneuvering and posturing going on here.
That said, both the US and Russian governments have a strong incentive to make this issue go away as quickly as possible so they can get back to being new superbestfriends.

10 bumbling fake spies for one nuclear scientist sounds like a solid deal to me. I'd pull the trigger.

I hadn't been following this story at all. So I had to google a bit to find out about it. I noticed on another thread Boz asking how hot Anna Chapman was, so my curiousity was somewhat peaked. I stumbled onto this: Warning: she is topless in a couple of the pictures. It's pretty tame, I just didn't want anyone to be surprised. If this violates board rules, please delete. freehollywoodporn.blogspot.com/2010/07/anna-chapman-topless-photos.html?zx=b36c5884d8b461d3

It's "piqued", not "peaked".

It's also almost certainly doctored photos. And not doctored very well at that.

Thanks exorcist. It's always good to learn something. I don't know that I have ever written the term. For that matter, for all the times I have used it and heard it used, I don't know that I have ever read it either. I'm sure I must have at some point, but don't remember doing so. "Peaked" makes sense, so I guess I just presumed that was the spelling.
