Yes - Jim Marchiony succeeded John Blake (longtime PR man for the Texas Rangers, then Boston Red Sox, now back with the Rangers) as the Hoya SID. I worked for him in the office from 79-81. I think he left GU for the NCAA (where he was ultimately the media director for the NCAA basketball tournament). Great guy, and very good at his job.

I saw the follow up statement indicating that federal charges might include tax evasion, theft and other charges, but I'm not sure the other line about "difficulty of federally prosecuting ... scalping" to be kind of interesting. If they just meant a general scalping charges -- ultimately being the tax evasion, theft etc.... then that make sense. But if not, then I don't exactly know what the federal law against scalping is. Presumably, the federal law is that the states are allowed to make their own laws. And if necessary, federal aencies would only come in when enforcement across state lines is warranted.

If I read it correctly, he's really in trouble for bribery for his land development -- I think this may be more of a tack on thing.

Is it just me or do those twin brothers -- the Pumps, I think -- look like caricatures of themselves?
